Glen Perkins tosses scoreless frame in non-save outing

Twins closer Glen Perkins pitched the ninth inning of Wednesday's 6-2 win at Detroit despite no save chance being on the line. Perkins allowed a pair of singles to start off the inning, but he escaped the jam by inducing a double play and striking out Andy Dirks.

Perkins lowered his ERA from 4.15 to 3.72.
