Giants outfielder Gregor Blanco will receive a mental break to clear his mind and work on his swing, MLB.com reports.
"His confidence is shaken. It's a hard thing to get out of," Bochy told MLB.com, adding that Blanco bunted on Tuesday even though a bunt was not called for.
"That sent a message that he has lost his confidence," Bochy told MLB.com. "This will give him a chance to catch his breath."
Bochy said that Blanco could be out "a day, two days or longer."
Blanco has hit .067/.173/.067 in 45 at-bats since the All-Star break.
