Red Sox pitcher Jake Peavy (9-5) bounced back with a sharp outing but was pegged with a tough-luck loss as he was outdueled by Mark Buehrle and the Blue Jays Thursday night. The right-hander yielded two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out four over six innings pitched in a 2-1 defeat.
Peavy is 1-1 with a 5.00 ERA through his first three starts (18 innings) with the Red Sox. He is scheduled to make his next start Tuesday at San Francisco. He is 3-5 with a 6.20 ERA in nine starts on the road this season.
