Nationals pitcher Jordan Zimmermann slumped in the month of May, but was able to right things in his first June start Tuesday, a 7-0 win over the Phillies.

Zimmermann tossed eight shutout innings in his longest outing of the year. He scattered five hits -- four singles -- and a walk in the eight innings, while striking out four batters and throwing just 102 pitches in the outing.

Zimmermann earned the win, pushing him to 4-2 on the season. After his ERA rose above 4.00 for the first time since late April in his last outing, he lowered it back to 3.59 Tuesday. He will try to keep the good times coming in his next outing, set for Sunday in San Diego.
