Astros pitcher Josh Fields suffered a forearm strain in his team's 7-3 win over the Rays Saturday, the Houston Chronicle reports.

"He has a muscle strain," manager Bo Porter said. "He felt it on the second warmup pitch and felt some discomfort. At that point there’s no sense in trying to work through it right there. You go ahead and get him out of the game and allow the trainers and the doctors to take a look at him."

Fields threw three pitches while getting the final out of the eighth inning, then threw two more while warming up for the ninth before leaving with the injury, which could earn him a trip to the disabled list. He owns a 5.93 ERA and 37:10 K:BB ratio in 27 1/3 innings.
