The 2016 Hall of Fame announcement comes Wednesday. (USATSI)

Because they're nice guys, the Deadspin sports blog took something to heart that MLB.com reporter and Hall of Fame voter Marty Noble said Monday about why he voted for Ken Griffey Jr. and Jeff Kent (and nobody else) for induction into Cooperstown in 2016:

"Griffey, Kent

No need to explain a vote for Griffey. He could be the first unanimous inductee, but he won't be, which means we can look forward to someone's outside-the-box -- outside-the-universe -- reasoning for omitting Junior.

I'd like to have a loop video of his swing -- it was perfect."

Someone voting for Griffey and Kent only is bizarre -- but whatever, Marty Noble has earned his say -- but Griffey's swing is a topic on which most of us can agree: It was a thing of beauty and, perhaps, perfection.

You could get lost in there...

The Hall of Fame's announcement for 2016 comes Wednesday night. Griffey, along with perhaps Mike Piazza and others, are expected to be named for induction.
