Rockies manager Walt Weiss wants to eventually use Wilin Rosario as a part-time first baseman, according to the Denver Post

"I envision Wilin as a catcher, but I also envision him [playing first] from time to time to be able to keep that bat in the middle of the lineup," Weiss said. Rosario started at first for the third time this season Wednesday. This strategy would allow the team to get more at-bats out of Rosario, much like the Giants do with Buster Posey, or the Indians with Carlos Santana. Rosario said he enjoys catching, but doesn't mind receiving the extra playing time at first.

Rosario is hitting .288/.314/.491 in 403 at-bats.
