Nationals closer Drew Storen allowed the potential go-ahead run to reach the plate Wednesday against Miami. But he walked off the mound with his eighth save.
Storen hit pinch-hitter Donovan Solano with a pitch upon entering and Dee Gordon followed with a single. But Storen retired Martin Prado and fanned Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna to leave them stranded.
The Gordon hit was the first Storen had yielded in his last five appearances.
