Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs took the loss Monday after giving up five runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks in seven innings while striking out eight in his team's 5-1 defeat against the Mariners.
Skaggs (4-2) gave up two runs in the first inning and then three more in the second after an error with two outs extended the frame. However, he was able to pitch well after getting out of the second inning. Skaggs owns a 3.97 ERA and 47:16 K:BB ratio in 65 2/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the A's Saturday.
