Yankees manager Joe Girardi isn't ready to commit to using a platoon situation at shortstop and second base, according to The Journal News.

With Brendan Ryan off the disabled list, the Yankees could use Ryan at shortstop and Jose Pirela at second base when a left-hander is on the mound, and start Didi Gregorius at shortstop and Stephen Drew at second base against righties.

“We’ll see,” Girardi said prior to Wednesday's game against the Nationals. “We’ll go day by day. That’s kind of how, to me, you have to approach the game. You have to see what’s going on, when guys necessarily need a day off. We’ll just go day by day.”
