Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke exited Thursday's start after hitting Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin, causing the batter to charge the mound and shoulder check Greinke before being tackled by catcher A.J. Ellis. The exchange took all three to the ground, causing the benches to clear.

After order was restored, Greinke was led off the field by a team trainer, having thrown 88 pitches and allowing two earned runs on five hits and a walk in five-plus innings of work while striking out four. It was not immediately clear whether he was removed for injury, ejected or removed due to a manager's decision.

Greinke's next scheduled opponent? The Padres in Los Angeles.
