Perkins went 2-for-4 with a grand slam, an additional run scored and an additional RBI during Saturday's 10-8 victory over the Reds. Perkins was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday and was thrown right into the starting lineup, batting ninth and playing right field. He recorded only one hit across 10 appearances (12 at-bats) during his first stint in the big leagues in April, so his offensive outburst versus Cincinnati is certainly noteworthy. The 26-year-old figures to provide depth to Milwaukee's outfield while Tyrone Taylor (elbow), Jesse Winker (neck) and Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) are unavailable, but Perkins isn't guaranteed regular starts, as Christian Yelich, Joey Wiemer and Brian Anderson will presumably man the outfield on a regular basis.... Brewers' Blake Perkins: Recalled from Triple-A
Milwaukee recalled Perkins from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday. The 26-year-old will give the Brewers some much-needed outfield depth with Tyrone Taylor (elbow) joining Jesse Winker (neck) and Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) on the injured list. Perkins has hit the ball well this year at the Triple-A level, but he's gone 1-for-12 with five strikeouts and zero walks in 10 major-league games.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Blake Perkins: Sent to Triple-A
The Brewers optioned Perkins to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The team hasn't announced a corresponding move, but it could mean Tyrone Taylor (elbow) will return from the injured list Tuesday. Perkins went 1-for-12 at the dish in his first stint in the majors.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Blake Perkins: Back to bench Tuesday
Perkins is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers. Perkins had started each of the Brewers' last three games, but he went just 1-for-8 with four strikeouts during that stretch and will now head to the bench. The Brewers have a long-term opening in the outfield with Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) soon set to undergo what could be a season-ending surgery, but Perkins hasn't made an early case to receive a regular role.... Brewers' Blake Perkins: Gets third straight start
Perkins will start in left field and will bat eighth in Monday's game against the Tigers. The switch-hitting Perkins will stick in the lineup for the third game in a row, this time facing off against a lefty (Matthew Boyd) after going 1-for-5 with a run scored across a pair of starts versus right-handers (Garrett Whitlock and Brayan Bello) over the weekend. The Brewers seem to be giving Perkins a look as an everyday player in the outfield in the wake of Garrett Mitchell's (shoulder) long-term absence, but Perkins is still expected to have a short leash and will need to begin producing at the plate in order to maintain a regular role.... Brewers' Blake Perkins: Making good impression
Perkins is 14-for-48 (.292) with a home run, three RBI, eight runs and a stolen base through 13 games with Triple-A Nashville. Perkins has slowed some after getting off to a fast start in his first stint with Nashville, but he has made a good deal of contact early in the campaign. He is on Milwaukee's 40-man roster, which puts him in the mix for the first call-up of his career if Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) misses any time at the big-league level.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Blake Perkins: Signs with Crew
Perkins signed a one-year contract with the Brewers on Wednesday. After recording a .821 OPS between the Double-A and Triple-A levels in 2022, Perkins has earned his first major-league deal. He will likely begin the season in Triple-A Nashville considering he only played 30 games at that level in 2021, but he will serve as another option to play in Milwaukee's outfield at some point in 2023 following the departure of Hunter Renfroe.... Adam McCalvy@AdamMcCalvy16H ago“Quintin Berry said it best,” said Peter Strzelecki, referring to the Brewers’ coach. “He's like, ‘I hope you have many more outings like that.’" At first, Strzelecki was shocked. He'd just surrendered a lead in the eighth inning. Here's what Berry meant: https://t.co/dBd1b5nLhB

Adam McCalvy@AdamMcCalvy1D agoBrewers top pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski went 12 up, 12 down to begin his High-A debut with the @TimberRattlers. Final line: 5.1ip, 1h, 1r (0er), 1bb, 7k. He threw 76 pitches, touched triple digits, and word from West Michigan is that his performance was generally absurd.
