  • White Sox's Tristan Peters: Flipped to White Sox

The White Sox acquired Peters from the Rays on Thursday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Peters had been designated for assignment earlier this week and now joins a new organization. The 25-year-old outfielder went hitless during his brief time with the Rays in 2025 and slashed .266/.355/.429 at Triple-A Durham. Peters can play all three outfield spots and will likely compete for a reserve role with the White Sox.

  • Rays' Tristan Peters: Cut from 40-man roster

The Rays designated Peters for assignment Tuesday.

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Steven Matz, whose signing was made official Tuesday. Peters went 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts during his brief time with the Rays in 2025 and slashed .266/.355/.429 at Triple-A Durham. He stands a good chance of passing through waivers unclaimed.

  • Rays' Tristan Peters: Demoted to Triple-A

The Rays optioned Peters to Triple-A Durham on Friday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

The move was made in order to make room for Bob Seymour. Peters made his MLB debut with Tampa Bay last week and appeared in four games. He failed to record a hit over 12 plate appearances, striking out seven times.

  • Rays' Tristan Peters: Back in majors

The Rays recalled Peters from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old was sent down to Triple-A on Monday, but he'll reverse course and rejoin the Rays with Taylor Walls (groin) moving to the injured list. Peters went hitless in nine tries during his first MLB stint over the weekend, and he'll presumably come off the bench most days going forward.

  • Rays' Tristan Peters: Optioned to Triple-A

The Rays optioned Peters to Triple-A Durham on Monday.

Peters started three straight games in center field after having his contract selected Friday, but he now finds himself back in the minors after going 0-for-9 with five strikeouts. His roster spot will be absorbed by Everson Pereira.

  • Rays' Tristan Peters: Contract selected Friday

The Rays selected Peters' contract from Triple-A Durham on Friday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Peters is slated for his first MLB stint, joining the active roster Friday as Jonny DeLuca (hamstring) hits the injured list. In 424 plate appearances with Durham this season, Peters is slashing .282/.370/.453 with 11 homers and 11 stolen bases. Connor Seabold was designated for assignment to open up a spot for Peters on the 40-man roster.

  • Rays' Tristan Peters: Playing again at Double-A

Peters (oblique) has gone 7-for-30 (.233) with two extra-base hits, three stolen bases and a 7:8 BB:K in eight games since being activated from Double-A Montgomery's 7-day injured list May 25.

The 23-year-old outfielder missed approximately five weeks due to an oblique strain. Over 78 plate appearances with Montgomery in 2023, Peters is slashing .242/.385/.403 with two home runs and six stolen bases.

  • Rays' Tristan Peters: Out with oblique injury

Peters is on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Montgomery with an oblique injury, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports.

He last played April 18, so assuming it is an oblique strain, we should see Peters return to action around the end of May. The 23-year-old outfielder had a .368 OBP, two home runs and four steals in nine games before the injury.
