The Athletics outrighted Lucas to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.
Lucas remains in the Oakland organization after he was moved off the 40-man roster before clearing waivers. The 27-year-old southpaw reached the majors for the first time in 2023, appearing in six games out of the Oakland bullpen and giving up six earned runs on 10 hits and four walks over 6.2 innings.

The Athletics optioned Lucas to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.
Since being selected from Triple-A on Sept. 6, Lucas has surrendered six runs over 6.2 innings while striking out seven batters and walking four. As a result of his poor performance, he'll head back to the minors in favor of Zach Neal, who was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

The Athletics selected Lucas' contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Acquired from the Orioles in the Shintaro Fujinami trade, Lucas has posted a 3.86 ERA and 51:17 K:BB over 46.2 relief innings between the Double- and Triple-A levels in 2023. He will be making his major-league debut when he enters a game.

Athletics' Easton Lucas: Traded to Oakland

The Orioles traded Lucas to the Athletics on Wednesday in exchange for Shintaro Fujinami, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Lucas began 2023 with Double-A Bowie and was promoted to Triple-A Norfolk after a hot start. The 26-year-old lefty has since put up a 4.26 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through 12.2 frames in Triple-A. If Lucas is able to hold his own in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League, he could work his way into the Athletics bullpen this season -- though he would have to be added to the 40-man roster first.
