WATCH: UFC fighter gets hit in head by multiple fans while walking to Octagon
American UFC fighter Matt Brown was in hostile territory at UFC 198 in Brazil. So much so that he got punched in the head by by multiple fans while walking to the Octagon.

UFC 198 took place in Curitiba, Brazil, pitting a number of Brazilian fighters against counterparts from the United States. The concept led to a less than hospitable environment for the non-Brazilian fighters on Saturday.
Among the Brazil vs. America bouts was Demian Maia vs. Matt Brown in the welterweight division. Brown played the villain in the build up to the fight, and the Brazilian fans were ready to let him hear -- and feel -- it as he entered the arena.
Unfortunately, some fans went too far, reaching out and actually hitting Brown in the head as he walked to the Octagon.

On the third instance, Brown turned to confront the fan before being separated by security and directed back towards the Octagon. Luckily nothing escalated too far, but it was a strange scene to see fans getting hands on a fighter as he walked to the ring.
Brown eventually lost to Maia by third-round submission.
