Reports: Wizards retaining Kevin Seraphin, Garrett Temple
Washington will bring back two of its reserves.
Kevin Seraphin has signed $3.8M qualifying offer with Wizards, league source tells Yahoo.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) July 18, 2014
Garrett Temple agreed to re-sign with Wizards on 2-year min deal with a player option in the 2nd season, his agent John Hamilton told Yahoo.— Marc J. Spears (@SpearsNBAYahoo) July 18, 2014
Seraphin averaged 4.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.5 blocks in 10.9 minutes per game last season, making 53 appearances for the Wizards and shooting 50.5 percent from the floor. Temple played in 75 games, but only averaged 8.5 minutes, scoring 1.8 points per game.
Neither figures to see an increased role next season. Seraphin's chances of breaking into the rotation are hurt by the recent additions of Kris Humphries and DeJuan Blair. Temple is still behind John Wall and Andre Miller at point guard, and Glen Rice Jr. will likely be in line for more minutes behind Bradley Beal at shooting guard.
