  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Season-best performance

Kornet ended with 23 points (10-12 FG, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and five blocks across 31 minutes before fouling out of Saturday's 115-110 loss to the Trail Blazers. Kornet erupted for a season-high 23 points while also matching his season high with five blocked shots. Victor Wembanyama missed his second straight game due to a knee injury, affording Kornet starter-level minutes. It appears as though Wembanyama could return as soon as Tuesday, meaning Kornet's run of production could come to an end sooner rather than later. With that said, he is worth holding, at least until Wembanyama is back to playing starter-level minutes himself.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Starting Friday

Kornet is in the Spurs' starting lineup against the Pacers on Friday. Kornet will return to the Spurs' starting lineup with Victor Wembanyama (knee) out. Kornet started 17 regular-season games while Wembanyama was sidelined due to a calf injury, and over that span the former averaged 7.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.6 blocks over 25.9 minutes per game.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Grabs nine boards in win

Kornet had seven points (3-4 FG, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, four assists and one block over 24 minutes during Wednesday's 134-132 victory over New York. Kornet grabbed nine rebounds for the second straight game, although the bigger talking point was the fact that Victor Wembanyama suffered a knee injury, limiting him to just 24 minutes. While the initial diagnosis is relatively positive, there is certainly a chance he could miss at least a couple of games, thrusting Kornet back into the standard league discussion.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Lends support under basket

Kornet racked up 10 points (3-4 FG, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 23 minutes during Monday's 113-101 loss to the Cavaliers. Although Kornet was a direct replacement for Victor Wembanyama during the game, the duo actually shared the floor for a few minutes in the first quarter. The team was quite effective in this setup, as they closed the gap with a 14-3 run to end the quarter. This could be a scheme that the Spurs could utilize more frequently in the future, as the scenario benefited both players.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Shifts to bench in loss

Kornet accumulated seven points (2-3 FG, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one block in 19 minutes during Saturday's 127-114 loss to the Jazz. Kornet resumed his spot on the bench, with Victor Wembanyama moving back into the starting lineup. The demotion likely signals the end of Kornet's standard league value, having now scored no more than eight points in three straight games. At best, he can still be utilized for streaming purposes, providing ample production in both rebounds and blocks.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Back to bench Saturday

Kornet is not starting against the Jazz on Saturday, according to NBA reporter Matthew Tynan. Kornet will return to his regular bench role with Victor Wembanyama back in the first unit. This will limit Kornet's fantasy upside considerably, as he's averaging just 9.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game when playing off the bench.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Posts double-double

Kornet accumulated 20 points (8-11 FG, 4-4 FT), 12 rebounds and one block in 28 minutes during Sunday's 124-113 victory over Washington. Kornet continues to start while Victor Wembanyama is being brought back into the mix slowly following his calf injury, and the former is making the most of his opportunities. The big man has scored in double digits in three of his last five outings, and this was his third double-double of the season. He's averaging 7.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.6 blocks per game as a starter, so he might have some streaming upside as long as he stays in the first unit.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Holding onto starting role

Kornet contributed 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal across 23 minutes during Thursday's 119-94 win over the Wizards. Kornet continues to start while the Spurs ease Victor Wembanyama (calf) back into the fray. Kornet has averaged 6.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.7 blocks in 26.6 minutes per contest over his last 13 games (all starts).

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Grabs eight boards in win

Kornet totaled two points (1-3 FG), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in 24 minutes during Saturday's 111-109 victory over the Thunder. Kornet remained in the starting lineup despite the return of Victor Wembanyama, although the former's time in the opening five could very soon come to an end. While he has been an adequate replacement during Wembanyama's absence, it's only a matter of time before Kornet moves to a backup role, meaning his fantasy value will likely evaporate. He could be worth holding for one or two more games, assuming the Spurs take a cautious approach with Wembanyama. Beyond that, Kornet should be viewed as nothing more than a streaming candidate.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Remains in starting lineup Saturday

Kornet will start against the Thunder on Saturday. Although Victor Wembanyama is available to play following a 12-game absence due to a strained left calf, Kornet will get the starting nod at center. The big man has started in each of his last 11 appearances, averaging 6.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.8 blocks in 27.2 minutes per contest during that span. Still, it wouldn't be surprising if he saw a dip in playing time with Wembanyama available.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Flirts with double-double in win

Kornet notched 10 points (1-3 FG, 8-9 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one block over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 132-119 victory over the Lakers. Kornet saw the court for over 30 minutes for just the second time this season and took nine trips to the free-throw line, cashing in on eight of them. With the return of Victor Wembanyama (calf) imminent, Kornet will likely be relegated to the bench as a result but should still maintain a sizable role within San Antonio's rotation.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Good to go Monday

Kornet (ankle) is available for Monday's game against the Pelicans. Kornet will shed his questionable tag after missing Friday's loss to Cleveland due to a left ankle issue. With the 30-year-old center back in action, Bismack Biyombo is expected to slide back to the second unit. Over his last five outings, Kornet has averaged 6.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.8 blocks in 27.2 minutes per contest.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Iffy for Monday

Kornet (ankle) is questionable for Monday's game against New Orleans, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Kornet was held out of Friday's loss to Cleveland due to a left ankle issue and is in jeopardy of missing his second consecutive contest. If the big man joins Victor Wembanyama (calf) on the sidelines again, Jeremy Sochan, Bismack Biyombo and Kelly Olynyk are candidates for increased playing time.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Won't play Friday

Kornet (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Cavaliers, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reports. Kornet has been on a tear defensively, racking up 14 blocks and three steals over his last six games. He's drawn nine straight starts in Victor Wembanyama's (calf) absence, but with both big men sidelined, Kelly Olynyk and Bismack Biyombo are likely going to play bigger roles. Jeremy Sochan could also play some small-ball five. Kornet's injury is labeled as soreness, so it appears minor, and his next chance to suit up will come Monday in New Orleans.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Questionable for Friday

Kornet is questionable to play Friday in Cleveland due to left ankle soreness, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. The Spurs have had a rather intensive travel schedule over the past week, playing four games in six nights, and all the miles are beginning to take a toll on the 30-year-old veteran. If Kornet does need to take a maintenance day Friday, that would open up some more minutes for Jeremy Sochan and Kelly Olynyk.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Five rejections Tuesday

Kornet ended with four points (1-4 FG, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists, five blocks and one steal across 28 minutes during Tuesday's 126-119 victory over the Grizzlies. The five rejections were a season high for Kornet, and just one off his regular-season career high. The veteran center has started eight straight games in place of Victor Wembanyama (calf), and while he's scored in double digits only twice, he's been a fairly consistent contributor on the glass and at the rim, averaging 6.8 points, 6.1 boards, 2.5 assists and 2.0 blocks in 26.5 minutes a contest.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Muted output in win

Kornet accumulated five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and two assists across 23 minutes during Thursday's 135-126 victory over Atlanta. Despite the absence of Victor Wembanyama (calf), Kornet hasn't been able to capitalize on his newfound opportunity after a great start to the campaign. Over his last two starts, Kornet produced just 2.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 0.5 steals in 24.0 minutes per contest. His opportunity in the short term is massive, so it's not a bad idea for fantasy managers to keep rolling the dice on him.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Double-double in spot start

Kornet contributed 13 points (5-5 FG, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and three blocks across 28 minutes during Sunday's 123-110 win over the Kings. Victor Wembanyama (calf) was held out of the lineup, so Kornet made his first start of the season and produced his second double-double of 2025-26 in only his sixth game. The veteran center could have some fantasy intrigue in the short term if Wembanyama misses any further time, but Kornet is making a good case for an increased role in the frontcourt regardless.

  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Starting against Kings

Kornet will start Sunday's game against the Kings, Matt George of ABC 10 Sacramento reports. Victor Wembanyama (calf) will miss his first game of the campaign Sunday, but he's considered day-to-day. Kornet has been productive through five games this season, posting averages of 9.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.8 blocks in 22.0 minutes per contest.
... See More ... See Less
  • Spurs' Luke Kornet: Drops 16 points in return

Kornet (ankle) racked up 16 points (6-6 FG, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one block in 20 minutes during Monday's 121-117 victory over the Bulls. Kornet returned from a seven-game absence due to an ankle sprain and shined while operating as the top backup to Victor Wembanyama in addition to occasionally sharing the court with the standout Frenchman. Matchups could dictate whether Kornet overlaps with Wembanyama on a more frequent basis moving forward, but if Kornet can seize control of a regular 20-plus-minute role, he'll likely be worthy of rostering in most fantasy leagues.
