Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Dismisses trade chatter
Sabonis downplayed offseason trade rumors, per Sam Amico of HoopsWire.com.
Sabonis isn't an unrestricted free agent until the 2028-29 campaign, so the rebuilding Kings may not pull the trigger on a potential deal until the star big man builds his stock back up. He averaged 15.8 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game last year, all his lowest marks since 2018-19, before undergoing season-ending knee surgery in February.

Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Remains trade candidate
Sabonis (knee) remains a trade candidate heading into the 2026-27 regular season, per Matt George of ABC 10 Sacramento.
After sitting out for Lithuania during the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, Sabonis is ready for the start of Sacramento's training camp. The Kings could be preparing for a full-fledged rebuild after waiving veteran DeMar DeRozan over the summer, leaving Sabonis as a prime trade candidate. The star big man's market value isn't at its highest after he averaged 15.8 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game, all his lowest marks since 2018-19, before undergoing season-ending knee surgery in February. However, he's primed for as much usage as he can handle as long as he's with the Kings.

Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Absent for Lithuania
Sabonis (knee) did not participate in Lithuania's latest FIBA World Cup qualifying window as he turned his attention toward preparing for the 2026-27 NBA season.
Sabonis was limited to just 19 regular-season appearances for Sacramento last season due to injuries but remained productive when available, averaging 15.8 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 54.3 percent from the field. The 30-year-old remains a major part of the Kings' frontcourt entering 2026-27 and should continue providing strong production in rebounds, assists and field-goal percentage.

Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Hoping to rebound in 2026-27
Sabonis (knee) has a new pick-and-roll partner after the Kings chose Darius Acuff with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
With Russell Westbrook, an unrestricted free agent this offseason, seizing Sacramento's top spot at point guard a year ago, Sabonis saw a decrease in both usage and efficiency. The star big man averaged 15.8 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 29.7 minutes per tilt, all his lowest marks since 2018-19, before undergoing season-ending knee surgery. Sacramento appears ready to go in a different direction at the point, which could work to Sabonis' benefit in 2026-27.
