  • Shannon Scott: Decent output off bench

Scott had seven points (3-7 FG, 1-5 3Pt), four rebounds and two assists across 21 minutes off the bench in Sunday's loss against Greensboro.

Scott posted a season-high seven points in this game, but he seems to be confined to a secondary role on offense -- especially since he's yet to log more than 21 minutes in a single game. That shouldn't do well for his upside going forward.

  • Shannon Scott: Misses time Saturday

Scott (ankle) did not play in Saturday's win over Westchester.

Scott has been a frequent member of the team's starting rotation, averaging about 30.4 minutes in 46 games with Long Island this season. While his statistical numbers are less than desirable (9.0 points, 5.9 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals) the point guard's absence was more noticeable with Jordan McLaughlin (calf strain) also sidelined Saturday.

  • Shannon Scott: Puts together monster performance

    Scott totaled 17 points (7-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt), 11 rebounds, 16 assists and a steal across 37 minutes Saturday against Raptors 905.

Scott led his team in both rebounds and assists and notched a triple-double in a 126-105 victory for the Nets. He's averaging 8.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists over 21 games in the G League this season, so despite a stellar showing, he figures to regress over the next few contests.

  • Shannon Scott: Misses Tuesday's contest

Scott (hamstring) did not play in Tuesday's win over the Swarm.

Scott played 34 minutes in Long Island's previous contest, so this appears to be more of a maintenance issue for the 25-year-old more than anything else. The starting guard will look to take the court Friday against the Swarm in a rematch of Tuesday's contest.

  • Nets' Shannon Scott: Inks deal with Brooklyn

Scott signed a contract with Brooklyn on Friday, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.

While the details of the contract have not been released, this is likely a move to keep Scott on Brooklyn's G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets. Scott will also likely be eligible for a salary bonus if he does end up playing for Long Island again this season.

  • Shannon Scott: To play for the Suns in summer league

Scott will play for the Suns in summer league, Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders reports.

Scott, who was originally an undrafted rookie out of Ohio State last season, averaged 8.5 points, 5.9 assists, and 3.6 rebounds during his senior year for the Buckeyes. The former college floor-general was cut from the Toronto Raptors squad last season after playing for them during the preseason. With the Suns actively shopping one of either Brandon Knight or Eric Bledsoe out of Phoenix, there is a possibility that a secondary backup point guard could be of need.
