Thunder's Chet Holmgren: To miss at least 8-10 weeks
Holmgren underwent a biological treatment Friday to address a small patellar tendon tear and will miss at least 8-10 weeks, Nick Crain of Slam reports.
This is another massive blow to an Oklahoma City squad that's already set to be without Jalen Williams (leg) and Cason Wallace (shoulder) for most, if not all, of the season. With Holmgren sidelined, Kenrich Williams, Jaylin Williams and Aday Mara are all candidates to see increased playing time. Two-way player Brooks Barnhizer could also see more minutes in the short term.

That makes it back-to-back four-block performances to begin the year for the star big man, who corralled a game-high 17 boards Thursday. Holmgren finished with 14 points (3-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 8-8 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and four blocks over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 116-104 win over San Antonio.
Holmgren had a steady night as a starter, tying Jalen Williams for the team lead in rebounds and leading the Thunder in blocks. He scored most of his points at the line, going 8-for-8 at rhe chraity stripe. He also took a hard fall in the second quarter when De'Aaron Fox's flagrant foul on him sparked a brief shoving match between the two teams. He seemed fine after the incident.

Holmgren did not play during the preseason due to the quad issue, but he'll be out there for Opening Night.
