Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Team option picked up
Utah exercised the third-year option on Hendricks' rookie contract Monday.
The move allows the Jazz to keep Hendricks under team control through the 2025-26 regular season. Hendricks bounced back and forth between the Jazz and their G League affiliate Salt Lake City Stars during the 2023-24 regular season. At the NBA level, he averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds across 21.4 minutes per game across 40 games (23 starts). Hendricks was in the starting lineup over the last 23 regular-season games of his rookie year and saw his numbers jump up to 9.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game across 26.3 minutes. He should begin the 2024-25 regular season in the starting frontcourt alongside Lauri Markkanen and John Collins.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Quiet preseason finale
Hendricks scored one point (0-3 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 Ft) while adding two blocks in 19 minutes during Friday's 124-86 preseason loss to the Trail Blazers.
The Jazz trotted out a possible Opening Night starting five in their final exhibition contest, and Hendricks saw the most minutes of the group as coach Will Hardy went to his bench early. Aside from the two rejections. Hendricks made almost no impact, bringing an erratic preseason for the second-year forward to a quiet end. The Central Florida product should see a bigger role than he did as a rookie, when he averaged 21.4 minutes over 40 games, but his main fantasy contributions could come at the defensive end of the court.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Struggles with shot Saturday
Hendricks finished with 13 points (4-13 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, an assist and a block across 26 minutes in Saturday's 126-120 preseason loss to the Spurs.
Hendricks had a rough showing from the field, but he still ended as one of three Jazz starters who scored in double digits in this loss Saturday. Hendricks is penciled in to start the season as Utah's starting power forward after a 2023-24 rookie year in which he averaged 7.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per contest across 40 regular-season appearances.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Good to go
Hendricks (personal) will be a full participant in training camp, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Hendricks missed Utah's final Summer League game to tend to a personal matter, so his status for camp wasn't in any real doubt. Coach Will Hardy spoke highly of Hendricks during Media Day, and noted that the forward put on 21 pounds during the offseason.

Hendricks (personal) isn't with the Jazz for the team's exhibition game against Detroit on Sunday.
Hendricks showed some signs of growth in his second Summer League stint but remained inconsistent on the offensive end. Still, the second-year forward should be given plenty of time to work through growing pains during the regular season with the Jazz still in a rebuilding phase.

Hendricks recorded 20 points (9-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, a steal and a block across 29 minutes of Wednesday's 86-76 win over the Raptors in Summer League.
Hendricks paced the Jazz in points and rebounds Wednesday, falling just one rebound shy of a double-double. The second-year forward had combined to score 11 points in his first two Summer League games in Las Vegas, so Wednesday's outburst was a much-needed bounce-back game. Hendricks started in 23 of his 40 appearances as a rookie and is slated to open the season as Utah's starting power forward.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Resting Tuesday
Hendricks (rest) will sit out the Jazz's Salt Lake City Summer League matchup versus the Thunder on Tuesday, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports.
Hendricks posted eight points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in the club's Summer League opener against the Grizzlies on Monday. However, the 20-year-old will sit out Tuesday so the Jazz can see more from their draft picks Cody Williams, Isaiah Collier and Kyle Filipowski. Hendricks had a decent rookie season with the club last year, during which he averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds across 21.4 minutes while shooting 45.0 percent from the field in 40 regular-season games. His next chance to suit up will come Wednesday versus the 76ers.
