Coulibaly missed Friday's preseason finale due to a sprained left index finger, but it sounds like his absence was mostly a precaution. There's no word of any restrictions heading into Opening Night. Coulibaly averaged 8.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.8 blocks across 27.2 minutes in 63 regular-season games last season, and he could be ready for a larger role in his second campaign, as he was a regular starter at shooting guard during the preseason.

Coulibaly is dealing with a sprained left index finger, and it remains to be seen if the injury will allow him to be available for the regular-season opener against the Celtics next Thursday. Coulibaly posted 10 points (4-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 24 minutes during Sunday's 125-98 preseason loss to the Raptors.
With Malcolm Brogdon (hand) unavailable, Coulibaly drew the start at shooting guard over Corey Kispert. Coulibaly's rookie season was a mixed bag, but he showed promise. Given the Wizards aren't expected to compete for a playoff spot this season, Coulibaly should get plenty of developmental minutes even if he struggles out of the gate in Year 2.

Coulibaly notched 11 points (5-10 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and three rebounds across 23 minutes in France's 70-65 exhibition loss to Germany on Monday.
Coulibaly tied Nicolas Batum with a team-high 11 points in France's Olympic preparation game loss Monday. The 19-year-old missed the Wizards' last 15 games due to a right wrist injury, but he seems to be good to go for training camp as he plays for his home country in the offseason. Wizards' Bilal Coulibaly: Season ends early
The Wizards announced Monday that Coulibaly will miss the remainder of the season due to a right wrist fracture.
Coulibaly missed Sunday's 130-104 loss to the Celtics with what the Wizards had listed as a right wrist sprain, but follow-up tests apparently revealed a more serious injury. The No. 7 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft will ultimately miss the final 15 games of the 2023-24, finishing his rookie campaign with averages of 8.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.0 three-pointers, 0.9 steals and 0.8 blocks in 27.2 minutes per contest over 63 appearances (15 starts) on 43.5 percent shooting from the field. The 19-year-old wing remains a raw prospect, and his efficiency progressively worsened throughout the course of the campaign as he took on added volume, but he has all the tools and a strong foundation to be a valuable wing in the league. Look for him to push for a regular 30-plus-minute role with Washington in 2024-25.
