76ers' VJ Edgecombe: Focused on shooting during offseason
Edgecombe said Monday that he placed an emphasis on improving his shooting during the offseason while also working on his finishing and ball-handling, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
Edgecombe established himself as a significant part of Philadelphia's rotation as a rookie, but improving his perimeter efficiency was an obvious area of focus heading into his second season. He shot 43.6 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from three across 79 regular-season appearances, and continued development as a shooter could make him an even more effective complement to the 76ers' other high-usage options. While Edgecombe's fantasy outlook is somewhat murkier entering 2026-27 after the 76ers added LeBron James and Jaylen Brown, James doesn't feel like his presence should take away from the youngster's development. "I don't understand why things would change for him," James said of Edgecombe's role.

76ers' VJ Edgecombe: Plays well for Bahamas
Edgecombe recorded 25 points (9-16 FG, 7-11 3Pt), four rebounds and three assists during the Bahamas' 100-82 win over Panama in Monday's FIBA World Cup qualifier.
The 21-year-old is coming off a strong first campaign with Philadelphia and earned All-Rookie honors after establishing himself as a key piece of the team's backcourt. However, his fantasy outlook is somewhat murkier entering 2026-27 after the 76ers added LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Anfernee Simons and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope during a dramatic roster overhaul.

76ers' VJ Edgecombe: Absent for Bahamas
Edgecombe is not on the Bahamas' roster ahead of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, according to NBA reporter Marc Stein.
There's no injury to report, and this is likely Edgecombe's decision. Presumably, his focus is going to be on ramping up ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season, when he'll look to build on a breakout rookie season. However, he'll face added competition for usage after the 76ers added LeBron James and Jaylen Brown this offseason.

76ers' VJ Edgecombe: New role incoming
Edgecombe could benefit from entering a veteran-laden environment after Philadelphia added LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Anfernee Simons and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Paul Hudrick of Liberty Ballers reports.
While touches may be harder to come by, Edgecombe will have less pressure to create offense immediately and should continue developing alongside one of the league's deepest rosters. Across 75 regular-season games in 2025-26, Edgecombe averaged 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.4 steals.
