Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Undergoing season-ending surgery
Scrubb (toe) will undergo season-ending surgery, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
Scrubb missed four consecutive games with turf toe and sought a second opinion, and that's presumably how the decision was made for him to undergo surgery. The second-year wing finishes the season averaging 2.7 points in 6.7 minutes across 18 appearances.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Won't play Thursday, gets opinion
Scrubb (toe) won't be available for Thursday's game against the Mavericks.
According to Law Murray of The Athletic, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said Tuesday that Scrubb is seeking a second opinion on his sprained right big toe. Scrubb will already be missing his fourth straight game Thursday, and Lue's comments suggest the second-year wing is likely on track to miss additional time. The 21-year-old previously required surgery on his right foot during training camp of his rookie season, so it's somewhat concerning that he's dealing with an injury on the same foot yet again.... Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Out again Tuesday
Scrubb (toe) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game at Memphis, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Scrubb has missed the past three games while dealing with turf toe, and his absence will continue Tuesday in Memphis. His absence shouldn't have much of an affect on coach Ty Lue's rotations.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Out again Sunday
Scrubb (toe) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup with Milwaukee.
Scrubb is set to miss his second straight game with turf toe. The two-way wing hasn't played a significant role for the Clippers, so his continued absence shouldn't affect how the minutes are distributed.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Out Thursday
Scrubb (toe) has been ruled out for Thursday's matchup with the Lakers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
Scrubb is dealing with turf toe on his right foot and will miss the Los Angeles showdown. The two-way player hasn't had many significant opportunities with the Clippers, so this news shouldn't change the minutes distribution very much.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Goes for 20 points in win
Scrubb posted 20 points (8-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four assists, two rebounds, two steals and a block across 30 minutes in Thursday's win over Santa Cruz.
Scrubb has played just two games for Agua Caliente after a stint with Los Angeles at the G League level, and he has reached the 20-point mark in both contests. He's expected to move up and down between the NBA and the G League, but he should be one of Agua Caliente's most productive players when he steps on the hardwood at this level.... See More ... Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Leads team with 28 points
Scrubb registered 28 points (10-24 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists and a steal across 25 minutes in Tuesday's win over Iowa.
Scrubb was the main reason Agua Caliente ended up winning this contest, and while he wasn't exactly efficient from the field, his long-distance shooting was a clear difference-maker in this contest. This was his debut in the G League regular season following a stint in the NBA with Los Angeles.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Gets garbage-time run
Scrubb played two minutes in Thursday's 106-89 loss to the Suns, finishing with two points (0-1 FG, 2-2 FT) and no other statistics.
Since exiting the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols Monday, Scrubb has appeared in both of the Clippers' two games, receiving little more than garbage-time minutes in either contest. The team is soon expected to return Luke Kennard and Ivica Zubac from the protocols, making it even more difficult for Scrubb to find consistent run with the Clippers. The two-way guard will most likely be assigned to the G League's Agua Caliente Clippers in the near future.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Will play Monday
Scrubb will be available for Monday's matchup with the Timberwolves, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
Scrubb has cleared health and safety protocols and will be available to play Monday. The 21-year-old has had limited opportunities this season playing just 5.9 minutes per game in nine games. Scrubb will be a depth option for the depleted Clippers.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Questionable Monday
Scrubb (COVID-19) is questionable for Monday's game against Minnesota, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Scrubb has been upgraded to questionable after being originally deemed out on the latest injury report. The guard has missed the past five games due to being placed in health and safety protocols.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Placed into NBA protocols
The Clippers placed Scrubb in the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols ahead of Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.
Scrubb is the third member of the Clippers to enter the league's COVID-19 protocols. He'll likely miss several games, unless he can test out of the protocol early. The two-way player has appeared in just nine games for the NBA club on the season, averaging 6.0 minutes per contest.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Shines against Santa Cruz
Scrubb posted 32 points (11-22 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block across 41 minutes in Wednesday's loss against Santa Cruz.
Scrubb led Agua Caliente in this contest and that shouldn't be surprising, especially since he's also seen quite a lot of time in the NBA levels as well. His G League contributions have been excellent and he's averaging 21.0 points per game in seven appearances with Agua Caliente.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Carries Agua Caliente in win
Scrubb registered 36 points (15-30 FG, 6-10 3Pt), nine rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block across 39 minutes in Wednesday's win over Salt Lake City.
The two-way player has been one of the most effective scorers in the G League this season and while he's not going to attempt 30 field goals on a regular basis, he has established himself as Agua Caliente's main scoring threat every time he's with the G League affiliate. He's averaging 19.2 points per game in six games with Agua Caliente.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Scores team-high 19 points
Scrubb posted 19 points (8-17 FG, 3-8 3Pt), two rebounds and an assist across 34 minutes in Monday's loss to Stockton.
Scrubb might have led Agua Caliente in scoring, but his performance was far from encouraging since he committed eight turnovers as well. That shouldn't take anything away from him being one of the team's main offensive weapons, though.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Puts up 17 points
Scrubb recorded 17 points (5-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, an assist and a block across 37 minutes in Thursday's win over the Ignite.
Scrubb was one of six Agua Caliente players that scored in double digits in this contest, and while his shooting figures were not very encouraging, he continues to be a productive player. He's scored at least 14 points in each of his two games thus far.... See More ... See Less

Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Makes NBA debut
Scrubb (foot) played four minutes off the bench in Tuesday's 115-96 win over the Raptors. He missed both of his field-goal attempts, committed a turnover and recorded no other statistics.
The Clippers were initially expected to hold Scrubb out for the entire 2020-21 campaign after he underwent surgery on his right foot, but the two-way rookie demonstrated enough progress in recent weeks for LA to give him a clean bill of health. Scrubb only ended up seeing garbage-time run Tuesday, and those are likely the only scenarios in which he'll be used the rest of the way unless the Clippers are down several players due to injury.... Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Could debut Sunday
Scrubb is available to debut Sunday against the Knicks, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
The 55th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft is available to potentially make his debut in Sunday's game, after recovering from surgery on his right foot. Scrubb cleared the last part in his recovery on Thursday, and while it's unclear if he will have any part in the rotation, he looks to be available if needed.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Taking redshirt for rookie year
The Clippers don't intend to make Scrubb (foot) available to play at any point this season, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
Scrubb has been sidelined since training camp after undergoing surgery on his right foot, and though he was able to shed his walking boot in late January, the Clippers apparently aren't preparing for him to make his NBA debut in 2020-21. Instead, the 55th overall pick in last November's draft will effectively take a redshirt for his first season in the professional ranks with the aim of entering the 2021-22 campaign at full health. The Clippers will likely evaluate Scrubb during the summer league before determining whether to re-sign him to another two-way deal ahead of next season.... See More ... See Less
Clippers' Jay Scrubb: Not on injury report
Scrubb (foot) is not listed on the injury report for Sunday's game against Detroit.
Scrubb hasn't played this season after undergoing right foot surgery after being drafted. Though he is no longer listed on the injury report, the 20-year-old likely won't be looking at an immediate role in the rotation.... See More ... See Less
