Chase Edmonds injury update: Cardinals RB will be game-time decision vs. Rams after monthlong absence
Edmonds is close to making his return to the field

The Arizona Cardinals got star quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins back last week, and more reinforcements are on the way. On Thursday, the Cardinals announced that they had designated running back Chase Edmonds to return from the injured reserve list. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Saturday that he will be a game-time decision for Monday night's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams due to his ankle injury, per NFL.com.
Edmonds was placed on injured reserve last month after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 9 against the San Francisco 49ers. The former fourth-round pick out of Fordham was having one of his best seasons before the ankle injury, as he has rushed for 430 yards and caught 30 passes for 211 yards to go along with one touchdown in nine games played.
Edmonds has been the "starter" in Kliff Kingsbury's offense, but James Conner has played a large role as well -- and he has thrived over the past four games. Since Edmonds was injured, Conner has rushed 72 times for 272 yards and four touchdowns while catching 15 passes for 175 yards and two scores. It remains to be seen how Edmonds' role might change with Conner's recent success.
The Cardinals have the No. 10 offense in the league, as they average 368.8 yards of total offense per game. With Murray, Hopkins and soon Edmonds returning to the starting lineup, the No. 1 seed in the NFC is primed to finish the regular season strong.
