How to watch Falcons vs. Jets football game
Who's Playing
New York @ Atlanta
Current Records: New York 1-3; Atlanta 1-3
What to Know
The Atlanta Falcons' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the New York Jets at 9:30 a.m. ET Oct. 10 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. New York will be strutting in after a victory while the Falcons will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Last week, Atlanta was within a late touchdown of stealing the win, but they took the "L" against the Washington Football Team 34-30. Despite the loss, Atlanta had strong showings from RB Cordarrelle Patterson, who caught five passes for three TDs and 82 yards, and QB Matt Ryan, who passed for four TDs and 283 yards on 42 attempts. Ryan ended up with a passer rating of 147.60.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but New York ultimately got the result they were hoping for last week with a 27-24 win over the Tennessee Titans. WR Corey Davis gave his former team something to remember him by as he caught four passes for one TD and 111 yards for New York. That receiving effort made it the first game that Davis has posted more than 100 yards receiving.
The Jets' defense was a presence as well, as it embarrassed Tennessee's offensive line to sack QB Ryan Tannehill seven times for a total loss of 45 yards. The heavy lifting was done by DT Quinnen Williams and DE Bryce Huff, who each racked up two sacks.
This next contest is expected to be close, with the Falcons going off at just a 2.5-point favorite. At 0-2 against the spread at home, they are no cash cow. That said, New York isn't so hot on the road, where they are 0-2.
Atlanta and New York now sit at an identical 1-3. Two defensive stats to keep an eye on: Atlanta is stumbling into the matchup with the most touchdowns allowed in the league, having given up 14 on the season. The Jets' defense has more to brag about, as they they rank first in the NFL when it comes to passing touchdowns allowed, with only two on the season.
