Panthers and wide receiver Robby Anderson agree to terms on a two-year, $29.5 million extension, per report
Anderson reportedly gets more than $20.5 million guaranteed

The Carolina Panthers have agreed to extend one of their top receivers. On Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that the Panthers and Robby Anderson had agreed to a two-year, $29.5 million extension. Rapoport says that Anderson will get $14.75 million per year and more than $20 million fully guaranteed. CBS Sports NFL Insider Jonathan Jones confirmed the two-year extension.
Anderson came to the Panthers in free agency last offseason to reunite with his college head coach Matt Rhule, signing a two-year $20 million deal. Despite not knowing the team's mascot, Anderson put up a few career-high numbers with 95 receptions for 1,096 yards and three touchdowns while boasting a 69.9 percent catch rate in his first season with Carolina. Joseph Person of The Athletic reported last week that the Panthers and Anderson were "deep in talks" on an extension, and a new deal has finally come to fruition.
The 28-year-old joined the New York Jets after going undrafted out of Temple in 2016. He made an immediate impact on New York's offense, and caught 63 passes for 941 yards and seven touchdowns in his second NFL season. In Carolina, Anderson joined a talented cast of weapons that found success despite Christian McCaffrey's injury and Teddy Bridgewater's inconsistencies under center. D.J. Moore, Curtis Samuel and Anderson made up quite the trio at receiver, combining for 3,140 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
While Samuel left this offseason in free agency, the Panthers drafted a couple of intriguing wideouts in Terrace Marshall Jr. and Shi Smith, and also reunited Anderson with his former quarterback in Sam Darnold.
