TE Joe Jon (J.J.) Finley signed with the Panthers on Wednesday. Mostly a 49ers and Lions practice-squad member the past three seasons, Finley (6-6, 251) dressed for Weeks 6 and 7 with the Lions last season. During the Lions’ 2011 preseason, Finley had six catches for 61 yards and a TD. TE Tarren Lloyd was cut.
