49ers' Tony Jerod-Eddie: Plays but does not record a tackle Thursday
Jerod-Eddie did not record a tackle in Thursday's preseason finale. He will look to make the team as a backup lineman.
Jerod-Eddie injured his chest in the second week of the preseason but returned against Green Bay on Sept. 26 and had his best showing with four tackles. He projects as a backup lineman if he can survive Saturday's roster cuts.

49ers' Tony Jerod-Eddie: Leaves game with chest injury Saturday
Jerod-Eddie exited Saturday's preseason game with an apparent chest injury, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Jerod-Eddie went down in the first quarter and did not return to the game. With both Arik Armstead (shoulder) and DeForest Buckner (leg) sitting out, he was getting reps with the 49ers' top defensive unit. Jerod-Eddie is currently competing for a backup defensive end job.

49ers' Tony Jerod-Eddie: Re-signs with 49ers
Jerod-Eddie has signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract to remain with the 49ers, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Jerod-Eddie has played in all but one of the 49ers' games over the past three seasons, providing sound depth along their defensive line. Last season, he finished with 14 tackles and four passes defensed.
