Zach Banner: Let go by Pittsburgh
The Steelers released Banner on Wednesday, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reports.
Pittsburgh's attempt to revamp the offensive line last season was an abject failure, and the team will now cut its losses. With the Steelers having re-signed Chukwuma Okorafor, it's unsurprising to see Banner's four-year stint in the organization come to an end.

The Steelers activated Banner (undisclosed) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Banner can now return to team facilities and begin preparing for Week 18's regular-season finale against the Ravens. He stands to return to his usual starting role.

The Steelers placed Banner (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Banner hasn't seen much playing time for Pittsburgh this season but now will need to spend some time away from the team. It's not yet clear whether he'll be able to suit up Sunday against Kansas City.

Steelers' Zach Banner: Ready for return
Banner (knee) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Banner has been recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL. The injury occured in the opening week of the 2020 campaign, though Banner has been able to practice with the team since Sep. 29. Banner should have the chance to return as the Steeler's starting right tackle as soon as their Week 6 matchup Sunday against Seattle.
