  • 49ers' Randy Gregory: Good to go Monday

Gregory (illness) is active for Monday's matchup against the Ravens, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Gregory was added to the injury report Sunday with an illness and was given a questionable designation, but the aliment won't prevent him from suiting up. Over his last four appearances, Gregory has recorded three tackles, including one sack, while playing a rotational role.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: On way out of Denver

Broncos head coach Sean Payton said Wednesday that Gregory will be released if he's not traded within the next 24 to 48 hours, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports. Per Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post, Payton cited the play of the Broncos' younger edge rushers as the reason for the team's plans to move on from Gregory. Since signing a five-year, $70 million deal with Denver last March, Gregory has appeared in just 10 of a possible 21 games while totaling 21 tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Set to leave Denver

The Broncos are expected to release Gregory on Wednesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports. Denver will cut Gregory lose after he was bypassed for the start at outside linebacker in the Week 4 win over the Bears in favor of Nik Bonitto. Gregory still played 47 percent of the snaps on defense and totaled three tackles, but the Broncos seem inclined to increase Bonitto's role after he tallied four tackles and 2.5 sacks in the win over Chicago. Gregory signed a five-year, $70 million contract with Denver last offseason, but he was held back by injuries in 2022 and will move on from the Broncos having accrued just three sacks over 10 total games with the club.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Participating at OTAs

Gregory was practicing with the team Thursday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. Gregory finished the 2022 campaign on injured reserve due to a knee injury. However, it appears the 30-year-old is now fully healed and ready to compete. A healthy Gregory, who missed a total of 11 games last season, would be a major boon for the Broncos' defense moving forward.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Done for season

Gregory (knee) was placed on injured reserve Saturday. That now makes 21 Broncos placed on injured reserve to start the season, easily the most in the NFL. The 29-year-old played in just six games this season, as Gregory also was placed on injured reserve earlier this year after undergoing surgery to trim his meniscus. He ends the 2022 season with just two sacks and 19 total sacks, hardly figures expected after he joined the franchise on a five-year, $70 million deal this offseason.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Will be game-time decision Sunday

Coach Nathaniel Hackett said Friday that Gregory (knee) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Rams, with his status likely to come down to a game-time decision, George Stoia III of The Denver Gazette reports. Gregory hasn't practiced all week due to a sore knee, but he apparently still has a chance of suiting up Sunday. Given that he returned to action for last week's win over the Cardinals after missing the previous 10 games while recovering from surgery to address a meniscus injury to his right knee, it's probably more likely than not that the Broncos hold him out Christmas Day as a precaution.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Sits out practice to begin Week 16

Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett said Gregory did not practice Thursday due to knee soreness, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports. Gregory was sidelined on IR for nine games after he underwent surgery for an injured meniscus, but he was activated Week 15 and played 20 defensive snaps during Sunday's win over the Broncos. However, it appears he's still not fully healthy after sitting out practice Wednesday and Thursday with knee soreness. Hackett also said Thursday that he hope Gregory will be able to play in Sunday's game against the Rams, according to Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com, though the defensive end's status on Friday's final injury report will provide a more definitive outlook on his availability.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Designated to return from IR

The Broncos designated Gregory (knee) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports. Gregory suffered a meniscus injury in his right knee that needed surgery during Week 4 and has been on injured reserve since. However, he appears to be nearing a return to action and will practice Wednesday, which begins a 21-day window for him to be added to the active roster.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Set for MRI

Gregory (knee) will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of his injury, Jeff Legwold of ESPN reports. Gregory suffered a right knee injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Raiders and he will now have a greater understanding of his status moving forward after Monday's MRI. The 29-year-old has produced nine tackles, including two sacks, while also forcing two fumbles over the first four games of the season. If he's forced to miss any time, Nik Bonitto stands to garner an increase in snaps at weak-side linebacker.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Active Sunday

Gregory (shoulder) will play Sunday against the Texans, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. Gregory has been dealing with a shoulder injury since before the season started. • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Deemed questionable for Sunday

Gregory (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Texans, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. Gregory was active for the season opener, but he played just 23 snaps and landed back on the injury report Wednesday as a non-participant. He returned to practice in a limited fashion Thursday and will have a shot at suiting up in Week 2. Even if he plays, it's possible the veteran linebacker is limited against Houston as he continues to work his way back from the rotator cuff surgery he had in March.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Will practice in full Tuesday

Gregory (shoulder) is expected to be a full participant at Tuesday's practice, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. Gregory was activated off the PUP list in mid-August but returned to practice in a limited fashion. However, he appears to be ramping up his activity before Sunday's season-opening showdown with Seattle, though Wednesday's official practice report should give a better indication of his availability for Week 1. Across his past three seasons in Dallas, Gregory totaled 15.5 sacks across 36 appearances, and if he's healthy, he'll look to make a strong first impression with his new squad to start the 2022 campaign.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Activated off active/PUP list

The Broncos activated Gregory (shoulder) off the active/PUP list Monday, and he returned to practice in a limited fashion, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports. Gregory began training camp on the PUP list after undergoing offseason surgery to mend an issue with his rotator cuff. Given he's returning to practice as a limited participant, he'll likely have a ramp-up period before he's cleared for game action. However, he appears to still be on track to make his Broncos debut during Week 1 of the regular season. Over his last three healthy seasons in Dallas, Gregory totaled 15.5 sacks across 36 appearances.

  • Broncos' Randy Gregory: Trending toward return

Gregory (shoulder) is still on track to return in time for training camp, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports. Gregory has yet to participate in Denver's offseason program as he is still rehabbing from an arthroscopic procedure undergone in March to address a rotator cuff issue in his shoulder. The former Cowboy defensive end, who signed a five-year, $70 million deal with Denver in March, should return to action by late July when the team's training camp begins.

  • Cowboys' Randy Gregory: Priority re-signing for Dallas

Gregory's (knee) agent has already met with Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones this offseason, David Helman of DallasCowboys.com reports. Jones mentioned Wednesday that he has talked with Gregory's agent in Mobile during Senior Bowl week, and he was optimistic the pass rusher would be re-signed. "Knowing our time together and some of the pluses and some of the times that we've had to work through and some of the not-so-fun things, that will serve us well," Jones said. Gregory played in 12 games in 2021 and tied his career high with six sacks while also recording his first career interception, and while he underwent knee surgery a couple weeks ago, he's expected to be ready to go when offseason workouts begin.
