Lions' Freddie Bishop: Signs contract with Lions
Bishop signed a deal with the Lions on Tuesday, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.
Released by the Jets in early June, Bishop will provide depth at middle linebacker following Nick Bellore's transition from middle linebacker to fullback. He saw action in just five games for the Jets last season and will likely need to impress the coaching staff in training camp to guarantee his spot on the 53-man roster.

Freddie Bishop: Waived by Jets
Bishop was waived by the Jets on Wednesday, Randy Lange of the Jets' official website reports.
Bishop has begun the last two seasons on the Jets' practice squad, but was promoted to the active roster in both campaigns. In 2017, Bishop appeared in five games and tallied 10 tackles. If Bishop clears waivers, he'll look to land work elsewhere prior to the start of training camps.
