  • Dolphins' Mike White: To sign with Dolphins

White (ribs) agreed to terms with the Dolphins on a two-year contract Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. White gives the Dolphins an experienced backup behind Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) with Teddy Bridgewater a free agent. White, who turns 28 later this month, made seven starts for the Jets over the last two seasons, completing 62.2 percent of his passes at 7.0 yards per attempt with eight touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

  • Jets' Mike White: Inactive for Week 18

White (ribs) is inactive for Sunday's season finale against Miami, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. White aggravated his rib injury -- which reportedly entails five fractures -- in an ugly Week 17 performance at Seattle. Joe Flacco will start the season finale, while White can focus on his recovery as he prepares to hit unrestricted free agency this offseason (unless he re-signs with the Jets first). Zach Wilson will be the team's backup QB in the season finale against Miami.

  • Jets' Mike White: Not in line to start Sunday

The Jets officially list White (ribs) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, but head coach Robert Saleh previously said Friday that the quarterback won't play. Per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, Joe Flacco is in line to start the Jets' season finale, with Zach Wilson slated to serve as the team's No. 2 quarterback. After practicing fully Wednesday, White was limited in practice on Thursday, and now he's in line to sit out after aggravating his rib injury last Sunday against the Seahawks. White revealed Friday that he's been dealing with five fractured ribs since initially suffering the injury Week 14 in Buffalo.

  • Jets' Mike White: Dealing with five fractured ribs

White, who won't play in Sunday's game in Miami, revealed Friday that he's been playing through five fractured ribs, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. White was noticeably hampered when he tried to play through the injury in the Week 17 loss to Seattle, even after sitting out the Jets' previous two games. The 27-year-old quarterback will be a free agent at the end of the season, and it's possible the Jets view White as a candidate for the starting job in 2023. He finishes the 2022 season with 1,192 passing yards and a 3:4 TD:INT across four starts.

  • Jets' Mike White: Ruled out for Week 18

White (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday's road matchup against the Dolphins, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports. White was initially set to make his second consecutive start to close out the season, but with the team having been eliminated from postseason contention with a Week 17 loss to the Seahawks, the Jets won't take any chances with the banged-up signal-caller in the finale. Joe Flacco is now in line to start Sunday with Zach Wilson dressing as his top backup, per Costello. White, who is still recovering from four broken ribs suffered in the Jets' Week 14 loss to the Bills, will finish the 2022 season with a 58.9 percent completion rate for 1,192 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions to go with nine rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground over his four appearances.

  • Jets' Mike White: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

This is a homecoming game for White, who grew up in South Florida. Hopefully that helps him end the season on a high note after he scored just three Fantasy points at Seattle in Week 17. This is a favorable matchup against the Dolphins, who have allowed four of the past five opposing quarterbacks to score at least 20 Fantasy points. And Miami played Week 17 at New England without Bradley Chubb (hand) and Xavien Howard (knee), and if both are out again then White would benefit in a big way.

  • Jets' Mike White: Week 18 Waiver Priority List

White was miserable in Week 17 at Seattle with three Fantasy points, but I'm hopeful he fares better at Miami in Week 18. The South Florida native has a good matchup against the Dolphins, who have allowed four of the past five opposing quarterbacks to score at least 20 Fantasy points. White can still be useful in deeper leagues in Week 18.

  • Jets' Mike White: Rough performance in loss

White completed 23 of 46 passes for 240 yards with two interceptions and a lost fumble in Sunday's 23-6 loss to the Seahawks. Making his first start since Week 14, White didn't look fully recovered from his rib injury and made a number of awkward throws that were well off the mark, although a Seattle pass rush that sacked him four times was also a factor. With the Jets now eliminated from playoff contention and White having posted a 0:4 TD:INT over his last three games, it's not clear who coach Robert Saleh will name his starting QB for a Week 18 trip to Miami.

  • Jets' Mike White: QBs to Start

It's good to have White back in Week 17 after he missed the past two games with a rib injury. The Jets need him after Zach Wilson has struggled, and Fantasy managers can use White as a low-end starter in all leagues. While he only has one game above 16 Fantasy points in his three starts, he has averaged 317.3 passing yards per game over that span. And the Seahawks have allowed five of the past seven opposing quarterbacks to score at least 20 Fantasy points. White is auditioning for a starting job in 2023 since he'll be a free agent this offseason, and I expect him to play well over his final two games this year.

  • Jets' Mike White: Start Him (Lineup Decisions)

White should continue throwing for at least good volume and give the Jets a shot to pull off a road win in Seattle. Unlike a lot of other waiver-wire quarterbacks, his style of play and accuracy give him a chance to hit upside better than 20 points. It helps his receiving corps is at full strength against a defense that predictably plays heavy zone coverage. I'd start White ahead of Geno Smith, Daniel Jones and Brock Purdy.

  • Jets' Mike White: Fully healthy for Week 17 start

White (ribs) logged full practices Wednesday and Thursday, and Rich Cimini of ESPN reports that White will start against the Seahawks on Sunday. White had the Jets offense looking as good as it had all year in his three starts, but he missed the last two games due to a fractured rib. After receiving medical clearance Monday, White has been practicing without limitations, and he'll be under center as the Jets try to make a late playoff push. Joe Flacco will back White up in Seattle, as Zach Wilson has been benched for the second time this season.

  • Jets' Mike White: Gets cleared, set for Week 17 start

White (ribs) received medical clearance from doctors and is on track to reclaim starting quarterback duties for the Jets this Sunday at Seattle, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports. After he was unsuccessful in his effort to find a doctor who would allow him to play through the fractured ribs he sustained in the Jets' Dec. 11 loss to the Bills, White missed both of the Jets' last two contests while head coach Robert Saleh turned the offense back over to 2021 No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson. With Wilson failing to impress in back-to-back losses to the Lions and Jaguars, it comes as no major surprise that White will recapture the starting job as the 7-8 Jets look to keep their fading playoff hopes alive. Assuming White is able to open Week 17 prep Wednesday with a full practice, Saleh likely will confirm the 27-year-old's return to the starting lineup.

  • Jets' Mike White: Set to have ribs checked out Monday

White is slated to undergo scans on his injured ribs Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Per Rapoport, the hope that is White -- who is reportedly dealing with fractured ribs -- is cleared for contact ahead of the Jets' Week 17 game against the Seahawks. If so, he'd presumably be in line to start at QB for New York a week from Sunday, but if White isn't cleared by then, Zach Wilson would be a candidate to get the nod versus Seattle.

  • Jets' Mike White: Limited on practice estimate

White (ribs) was listed as limited on Monday's practice estimate, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. At this stage, White, who is dealing with fractured ribs, still is being evaluated by doctors, which clouds his status in advance of Thursday night's game against the Jaguars. For now, coach Robert Saleh hasn't confirmed the team's starting QB for the contest, but on a short week, White could be hard-pressed to be cleared. If so, Zach Wilson would be in line to draw the assignment Week 16.

  • Jets' Mike White: Still isn't cleared

Coach Robert Saleh revealed Monday that White (ribs) has yet to be cleared for contact, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports, so White is unlikely to play Thursday against the Jaguars. White is dealing with fractured ribs, so while he feels good enough to play, the medical staff has to wait for the risk of further injury to subside before clearing him. Barring a sudden turnaround, Zach Wilson will be tasked with starting a second consecutive game for the 7-7 Jets, whose playoff hopes hang in the balance.

  • Jets' Mike White: Out Week 15, re-evaluation coming

White (ribs), who has been ruled out for this Sunday's game against the Lions, is scheduled to be evaluated again Monday, but head coach Robert Saleh acknowledged that it will be a "challenge" for the quarterback to get cleared in time to play in the team's Week 16 game against the Jaguars next Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. White insisted throughout the week that he would be ready to play this Sunday, but he failed to gain clearance from team doctors and thus will be inactive while Zach Wilson draws the start. With the Jets then facing a quick turnaround for Week 16, White may end up sitting out a second straight game due to the rib injury he suffered in the Week 14 loss to Buffalo.

  • Jets' Mike White: Won't play Sunday

White (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. The 27-year-old was limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday and planned to play through the rib injury this weekend, but he won't be cleared for contact in time for Sunday, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Zach Wilson will retake the reins under center for the Jets with White sidelined. New York has a quick turnaround Week 16 with a matchup against Jacksonville next Thursday, and Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports White should have a chance to play in that contest.

  • Jets' Mike White: Start Him (Lineup Decisions)

I suspect the Lions will have a tough time matching up with Garrett Wilson. If they double-team him then it leaves some prime opportunities for Elijah Moore and Tyler Conklin. If they don't double him then they'll get eaten alive by him. This will also be a big test for the Lions pass rush because the Jets' O-line has been low-key good and White has done a nice job of getting rid of the ball. Expect a slow start and a strong finish, enough for him to make the cut as a top-12 Fantasy quarterback. I'd start him over Aaron Rodgers, Geno Smith and Jared Goff.

  • Jets' Mike White: Still limited, but in line to start

White (rib) was a limited practice participant Thursday. Though the sore rib White sustained in last Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Bills resulted in his practice reps being managed for the second day in a row, the quarterback said after Thursday's session that he has no doubt he'll be available to make his fourth consecutive start this weekend against the Lions, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. Before a determination is made on whether White will carry an injury designation into Sunday, the Jets will see if the signal-caller can increase his practice activity Friday.

  • Jets' Mike White: QBs to Start

White is expected to play in Week 15 despite hurting his ribs in Week 14 at Buffalo. He should have the chance for a big game against the Lions, who are No. 1 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. Four of the past five opposing quarterbacks against Detroit have scored at least 26 Fantasy points, and White should rebound from some poor outings the past two games against the Vikings and Bills when he combined for just 26 Fantasy points. But we know his upside since he scored 30 Fantasy points against Chicago in Week 12, which was his last home game, and hopefully he can replicate that level of production this week.
