White finished the 2022 regular season with 124 tackles (74 solo), including 5.5 sacks, five defensed passes, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles across 17 games. White followed up that impressive line with a modest five tackles (two solo) in the wild-card loss to the Cowboys. However, his regular-season body of work was as impressive as ever, with his pass breakups a career high. White's sack total was also the second highest of his career, and the soon-to-be 25-year-old could be in for an even more prominent role next season if fellow linebacker Lavonte David leaves via free agency.... Buccaneers' Devin White: Picks up fumble Week 17
White recorded seven tackles (four solo) and a fumble recovery in Sunday's 30-24 win against Carolina. White tied with outside linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka for the Buccaneers' second-most tackles behind longtime veteran Lavonte David. The fourth-year linebacker also logged his second fumble recovery in as many weeks, emerging from a scrum of bodies for an aborted snap by Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold. White leads Tampa Bay with just two more tackles than White (120) over 16 games this season, and the two should continue to serve as the team's primary tacklers Week 18 against Atlanta.... Buccaneers' Devin White: Racks up stops in Week 16 win
White recorded nine tackles (five solo), was credited with three quarterback hits and recovered a fumble in the Buccaneers' 19-16 overtime win against the Cardinals on Sunday night. White checked in second in tackles on the night behind fellow linebacker Lavonte David and was a consistent presence around Cardinals spot starter Trace McSorley. White fell just short of his fifth double-digit tackle tally of the campaign with the productive performance, but his season line of 115 stops, 5.5 sacks, five defensed passes, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery afford him elite IDP status heading into the final two games of the season.... Buccaneers' Devin White: Does it all in win
White recorded nine tackles (eight solo), including two sacks, and one forced fumble during Sunday's 21-16 win over Seattle. White bounced back from a season-low four tackles in his last outing to notch a team-high nine stops against the Seahawks. The fourth-year linebacker also recorded his first sack since Week 2 and registered his second multi-sack game of the campaign (Week 1). Across 10 appearances, White's totaled 76 tackles, five sacks, four pass defenses and two forced fumbles.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Quiet day in win
White recoded five tackles (three solo), including one for loss, and two quarterback hits during Sunday's 21-15 win over the Falcons. Compared to his usual production, it was a relatively quiet game for the star linebacker, but he's still a top-tier option after totaling 40 tackles, three sacks, three pass defenses and one forced fumble through five games. He'll look to get back on track against the Steelers in Week 6.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Amasses 11 tackles Sunday
White recorded 11 tackles and one pass defensed in Sunday's 41-31 loss to the Chiefs. White continues to display elite linebacker play through Week 4, as he's now up to 35 tackles, three sacks, three passes defensed and one forced fumble on the year. The fourth-year pro played every single defensive snap Sunday versus Kansas City, and he'll look to add another productive outing when the Buccaneers host the Falcons on Sunday.... See More ... Buccaneers' Devin White: Another standout effort Week 2
White recorded 11 tackles (seven solo), including one sack, and one pass defensed in the Buccaneers' 20-10 win over the Saints on Sunday. White paced the Buccaneers in tackles for the second time in as many games to open the season, boosting his Week 1 total by three stops overall. The 24-year-old's takedown of Jameis Winston also pushed his sack total to three over two games, putting him just a half-sack behind his 2021 tally over 17 contests. White probably would be the first to concede the Saints were able to have some success running in his direction with Mark Ingram in the earlier portion of Sunday's contest, but given his prior body of work, that's largely an outlier. White could be in for another busy afternoon again Week 3 with the Packers' elite Aaron Jones-AJ Dillon duo coming to town.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Stands out in joint practice
White consistently made an impact during the second day of joint practices with the Dolphins on Thursday, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports. The talented linebacker has vowed to be even more consistent in his fourth season, and he's laying the groundwork for taking his already impressive body of work to another level with a strong training camp. White especially stood out Thursday while facing an opponent other than his own teammates, making his presence felt in coverage with back-to-back pass breakups on throws intended for Myles Gaskin and Hunter Long and also doing his typically superior job against the run. White was once again a jewel of IDP circles in 2021 with 128 tackles, 3.5 sacks and three defensed passes, but he didn't force a turnover for the first time in his three-year career.... See More ... Buccaneers' Devin White: Unusually low tackle total
White recorded two tackles (both solo) and was credited with a quarterback hit in the Buccaneers' 28-24 win over the Jets in Week 17. White played on every one of the defense's 61 snaps, so the season-low tackle total was certainly an untimely surprise for those rolling with him in critical fantasy postseason contests. The third-year linebacker has just six combined stops over the last two games, but head coach Bruce Arians emphasized Monday that White isn't playing hurt and simply didn't play anywhere close to his potential. The star linebacker's final opportunity to boost his production prior to the postseason comes in Week 18 against the Panthers.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Huge day all around
White totaled 10 tackles (seven solo) along with one and a half sacks in the 33-27 win over the Bills on Sunday. White continues to be a disruptive force on the defensive side of the ball for Tampa Bay as he led his team in total tackles while also tallying a sack and a half, a tackle for loss and two quarterback hits. The young linebacker leads the Buccaneers in tackles and currently ranks fifth in the NFL with 76. Looking ahead to next week, White will have a big role in containing star running back Alvin Kamara as the Saints travel to Tampa Bay for a Sunday night showdown.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Full participant Thursday
White (quadriceps) was able to log a full practice Thursday, Carmen Vitali of the team's official site reports. The middle linebacker appears ready to go ahead of the Buccaneers' Week 13 contest against the Falcons. White's 90 tackles lead the team this season and he is yet to miss a game in 2021.... Buccaneers' Devin White: Will be limited in practice
White (hip) will likely be limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, James Palmer of NFL Network reports. White injured his hip against the Colts on Sunday but returned and finished the game. The limited practices will be implemented to try and help him get healthy in time for Sunday against the Falcons.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Questionable to return
White (thigh) is questionable to return Sunday against the Colts, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports. White was questionable going into the game with a quadriceps injury, which he may have aggravated early in the first quarter. If he is unable to return, it'll be a big blow to Tampa Bay's linebacker unit. Kevin Minter will now likely see more work.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Ready to go Sunday
White (quad) will play Sunday against the Colts, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports. White missed practice Wednesday, but he was able to close out the week with multiple limited practices. The 2019 first-round selection has been a pillar in Tampa Bay's linebacker unit with 87 tackles (59 solo), two sacks and three passes defensed on the season.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Career-best performance in loss
White compiled 18 tackles (13 solo), including two sacks and an additional tackle for loss, in the Buccaneers' 29-19 loss to Washington on Sunday. He was also credited with an additional quarterback hit. The third-year linebacker's numbers were jaw-dropping to say the least and extended his streak of double-digit stops to three games. White's pair of sacks were his first quarterback takedowns of the season after he compiled a career-high nine in 2020, and perhaps the only remaining blemish on his overall numbers is his complete absence of forced turnovers. Otherwise, White's average of 8.8 stops per contest puts him in the elite tier of IDP options heading into a Week 11 Monday night matchup versus the Giants.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Plies up stops
White had 10 tackles (eight solo) during Sunday's 38-3 win over the Bears. White tallied double-digit tackles for the second time this season during Sunday's trouncing of Justin Fields and the Bears, also notching one tackle for a loss and one quarterback hit. While the third-year pro isn't filling up the stat sheet like he did in 2020 -- White still stands without a sack through seven games-- he flashed some of his potential to wreak opposing game plans Week 7. Next, White will look to cause havoc against Jameis Winston and the Saints.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Dominates in NFC title game
White totaled 15 tackles (nine solo) and recovered a fumble in the Buccaneers' 31-26 win over the Packers in Sunday's NFC Championship Game. White once again found himself at the top of the team's leaderboard in tackles, and his recovery and return of an Aaron Jones fumble early in the third quarter set up an eight-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady to Cameron Brate on the very next play. The 2019 first-round pick missed the wild-card win over Washington due to COVID-19 protocols, but White more than made up for it with a whopping 26 stops, an interception and Sunday's fumble recovery over the last two postseason games. White's diverse skill set will be an asset for the Buccaneers defense as it tries to slow down Patrick Mahomes and his weapons during Super Bowl LV on Sunday, Feb. 7.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Memorable return to action
White (reserve/COVID-19) recorded 11 tackles (10 solo), including one for loss, a fumble recovery and an interception in the Buccaneers' 30-20 divisional-round win over the Saints on Sunday. The Pro-Bowl linebacker offered a tangible reminder of the impact he's capable of making with an absolutely dominating performance, one that included a clutch interception on a pass intended for Alvin Kamara with 7:18 remaining that led to the Buccaneers' final touchdown. White now has three straight double-digit tackling efforts dating back to Week 15 of the regular season -- the linebacker missed both Week 17 and the wild-card win over Washington -- and he'll undoubtedly play an integral role again in Sunday's NFC Championship Game versus the Packers.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Another prolific tackle tally
White furnished nine tackles (five solo), including one for loss, and was credited with a quarterback hit in the Buccaneers' 27-24 loss to the Rams on Monday night. The second-year linebacker exceeded the 91 stops he'd tallied during his rookie 2019 campaign over 13 games with Monday night's effort, which marked his sixth game with at least nine tackles this season. White has also proven good for the occasional sack in coordinator Todd Bowles' scheme, already recording five, all between Weeks 6 and 8. White will look to keep up the stellar IDP production in what should be another busy day for the Tampa Bay defense in a Week 12 interconference showdown with the Chiefs.... See More ... See Less -
Buccaneers' Devin White: Posts six stops in win
White furnished six tackles (four solo), including one for loss and one quarterback hit, in the Buccaneers' 46-23 win over the Panthers on Sunday. The second-year linebacker co-led the team in stops alongside position mate Lavonte David. White has at least Sunday's tackle tally in five consecutive contests, and the aggressive pass-rushing role he's afforded in coordinator Todd Bowles' scheme has already led to five sacks. White will look to keep up his stellar numbers in a matchup against a run-heavy Rams offense Week 11.... See More ... See Less
