  • Stephen Sullivan: Reaches injury settlement

The Panthers released Sullivan (quadriceps) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Sullivan was set to miss all of 2024 after landing on Carolina's injured reserve last Thursday, but the 27-year-old will now have the opportunity to catch on with another team once he's fully healthy. The 2020 seventh-round tight end out of LSU played in 11 regular-season games for the Panthers last season, posting 12 catches on 24 targets for 125 yards.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Lands on IR

Sullivan (quadriceps) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports. Sullivan will have his 2024 campaign come to an early end with his shift to IR sidelining him for the season. However, he could find another opportunity if he reaches an injury settlement with the team and can prove himself healthy. The LSU product appeared in 11 regular-season games for Carolina last season, recording 12 catches on 24 targets for 125 yards. In a corresponding move, the team signed fellow tight end Curtis Hodges.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Targeted five times in Week 16

Sullivan caught three of five targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 33-30 loss to the Packers. Sullivan operated as the Panthers' No. 2 tight end behind Tommy Tremble, playing just 14 of Carolina's 66 offensive snaps. In nine appearances, the 27-year-old tight end has recorded just 12 catches for 125 yards this season. Sullivan should remain far off the fantasy radar in a Week 17 matchup with the Jaguars.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Questionable despite full practice

Sullivan (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints after logging a full practice Friday. Sullivan followed the same practice schedule as safety Vonn Bell (shoulder), but while Bell was removed from the injury report entirely, Sullivan will carry a questionable tag into Sunday's game. If Sullivan suits up, he could see increased playing time with Hayden Hurst (concussion) ruled out and Tommy Tremble (hip) questionable.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Injury still lingers

Sullivan (shoulder) was a limited participant during practice Wednesday. Sullivan dealt with a shoulder injury earlier in the season but has been playing through it and has remained absent from the team's injury reports. It's not clear if this is a new injury or something the LSU product aggravated during Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers. Either way, Sullivan will continue working to get healthy and suit up in Week 14 against the Saints.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Ready to go Sunday

Sullivan (shoulder) is active for Sunday's matchup with the Cowboys, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official website reports. Sullivan is ready to go for Week 11 after being slowed by a shoulder injury at practice this week. The 26-year-old will operate as a depth option behind Tommy Tremble at tight end Sunday.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Misses Thursday's practice

Sullivan (shoulder) didn't participate in Thursday's practice. After logging a full practice Wednesday, Sullivan surprisingly was a non-participant at Thursday's practice. The 26-year-old tight end missed the Panthers' Week 10 loss to the Bears with this shoulder issue, and after Thursday's DNP, he'll likely carry an injury designation into the weekend once again.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Not ready to compete

Sullivan (shoulder) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bears. Sullivan suffered the injury Sunday against the Colts and has logged a DNP each day this week. Carolina signed Jordan Matthews from their practice squad Tuesday, who will likely fill in as the team's No. 3 tight end against Chicago.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Suffers shoulder injury

Sullivan sustained a shoulder injury during Sunday's loss to the Colts, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports. Sullivan had a productive day before his departure, securing four of five targets for 28 yards. It's unclear whether his shoulder injury will impact his availability for Thursday's game in Chicago.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Remains limited

Sullivan (hip) was a limited participant during Wednesday's and Thursday's practices. Sullivan has participated in a limited fashion throughout his first two practices since he was designated to return from injured reserve. The 26-year-old appeared in 14 games for Carolina last season, recording two catches for 46 yards and playing primarily on special teams.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Designated to return from IR

Sullivan (hip) was designated to return from injured reserve by the Panthers on Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official website reports. Sullivan will now have a 21-day window to return to practice and ultimately be activated off of IR. If he's unable to do so, the tight end will remain sidelined for the rest of the 2023 campaign.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Limited on Thursday's report

Sullivan (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, per the team's official site. After practicing without limitations Wednesday, Sullivan saw his reps capped during Thursday's session due to an ankle issue, ultimately putting his Week 17 availability in jeopardy. He'll have one more shot to ramp back up to full speed Friday, but Tommy Tremble (hip) would presumably be in line for an expanded backup role behind Ian Thomas on Sunday against the Buccaneers should the 26-year-old miss any time.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Out against Bengals

Sullivan (illness) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Bengals, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports. Sullivan was unable to practice all week due to illness and will be inactive for the third time this season. His absence isn't likely to have a major effect on the offense as he has only three targets and two catches in six games on the campaign.

  • Panthers' Stephen Sullivan: Full practice Friday

Sullivan (back) was a full participant at Friday's practice ahead of the Panthers' Week 6 game against the Rams, Darin Gantt of the team's official website reports. Sullivan will be ready to go for Sunday's matchup with Los Angeles after logging a full practice Friday. With Baker Mayfield (ankle) unlikely to play, the tight end faces uphill odds to build off his one reception this season.

Sullivan was signed to the active roster from the Panthers' practice squad Saturday, Darin Gantt of the team's official website reports. The tight end was active for each of the Panthers' last two contests, failing to reel in his only target over 24 offensive snaps. Sullivan will operate as a reserve option behind Tommy Tremble and Ian Thomas as the Panthers wrap up their season Sunday against the Buccaneers.

  • Stephen Sullivan: Out with injury

Sullivan (undisclosed) was placed on the Seahawks' practice squad injured list Monday, Logan Reardon of the team's official site reports. The 23-year-old only appearance of the season came Week 8 against the 49ers, and he had one tackle in 22 defensive snaps. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, but Sullivan will be unavailable for the next few weeks.

  • Seahawks' Stephen Sullivan: Bumps to active roster

The Seahawks elevated Sullivan from the practice squad Saturday, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports. Sullivan played wide receiver in college, but the Seahawks drafted him in the seventh round with the hopes of converting him to tight end. That didn't pan out, and he's been taking reps at defensive end on the practice squad. The Seahawks already have five other healthy tight ends on the active roster, so Sullivan could see a bulk of his usage on defense if he indeed gets in the game.

  • Stephen Sullivan: Unable to lock down roster spot

Sullivan was waived by the Seahawks on Saturday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. The Seahawks selected Sullivan in the seventh round of April's draft with hopes that the 6-foot-5, 245-pound wide receiver could be converted to tight end. However, the LSU product couldn't effectively make the switch, so the Seahawks opted to keep four established tight ends. If Sullivan clears waivers, expect the Seahawks to continue to develop him on the practice squad.

  • Seahawks' Stephen Sullivan: Could play tight end

Coach Pete Carroll expects Sullivan to start off as a tight end, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. The Seahawks list Sullivan as a wide receiver on their roster but apparently intend to test him out at tight end once they're able to practice. The seventh-round pick was a wideout during his sophomore and junior seasons at LSU, catching 34 passes for 582 yards and three touchdowns before lagging to a 12-130-0 receiving line as a tight end during his senior campaign. At 6-foot-5, 248 pounds with 4.66 speed, Sullivan looks like a TE more so than a WR, but he could still play the latter position if he were to drop some weight. It'll be tough for him to earn a roster spot as a tight end in Seattle, where the depth chart already holds Greg Olsen, Will Dissly (Achilles), Jacob Hollister, Luke Willson and rookie fourth-round pick Colby Parkinson.

  • Seahawks' Stephen Sullivan: Likely to start career at receiver

The Seahawks listed Sullivan as a receiver after selecting him in the seventh round of last week's draft and are expected to have him begin his career at that position, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. The 6-foot-5, 248-pound Sullivan played wideout at LSU during most of his time in college, but he spent most of his senior season at tight end, recording 12 receptions for 130 yards. While he may need to drop some weight if the Seahawks are serious about using him at receiver, Sullivan should at least have a better path to making the roster at that position than at tight end. Seattle already boasts four fairly established tight ends in Greg Olsen, Will Dissly, Jacob Hollister and Luke Willson and added another tight end through the draft in fourth-round pick Colby Parkinson, so Sullivan likely wouldn't have found himself any higher than fifth or sixth in the pecking order.
