  • Jaguars' Maason Smith: Good to go Week 2

Smith is active for Sunday's battle against the Bengals. Smith missed multiple weeks during training camp due to an undisclosed issue and was then a healthy scratch for Week 1 of the regular season. However, he's ready to roll for Week 2 and could see some rotational snaps along Jacksonville's defensive line. Smith will likely take some of the work that Khalen Saunders, who is a healthy scratch Sunday, assumed in the season-opener.

  • Jaguars' Maason Smith: Healthy scratch vs. Carolina

Smith (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Smith was activated from the active/PUP list mid-August and is not dealing with an injury, so he is a healthy scratch for Week 1, per Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union. Smith, the Jaguars' 2024 second-round pick, was expected to serve in a meaningful role on the interior defensive line, but he'll observe Sunday's game in street clothes while Khalen Saunders and Austin Johnson work in rotation with DaVon Hamilton and Arik Armstead. Smith's next opportunity to make his 2025 debut is Sunday, Sept. 14 against the Bengals in Cincinnati.

  • Jaguars' Maason Smith: All set for Week 13

Smith (ankle) did not appear on the Jaguars' first injury report of the week Wednesday. Smith appears to be set to return to the field after a four-game absence with an ankle injury. The 22-year-old has played in five games this season, compiling five total tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, while also adding a pass defensed. Smith will be back in his role as a depth option behind DaVon Hamilton and Arik Armstead at defensive tackle versus the Texans on Sunday.

  • Jaguars' Maason Smith: Not playing Week 11

Smith (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's battle against the Lions. Smith will be inactive for his fourth straight contest due to an ankle injury. He's been able to log a trio of limited practice sessions each of the past three weeks, but Jacksonville continues to hold him out. The Jaguars are on bye next week, so Smith will have extra time to recover ahead of the team's Week 13 tilt against the Texans.

  • Jaguars' Maason Smith: Set to miss another contest

Smith (ankle) has been ruled out of Sunday's Week 9 matchup against Philadelphia, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports. Smith will sit out a third straight game, as he's dealing with an ankle injury. The rookie second-round draft pick did manage to log a trio of limited practices this week, so he'll look to return to game action Sunday, Nov. 10 against Minnesota. Jordan Jefferson could again see a smattering of defensive snaps due to Smith being sidelined.
