Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: No touches Week 4
Ahmed did not handle a carry during Sunday's 48-20 loss to the Bills.
Ahmed, in his return from a groin injury that forced him to sit out Week 3, played just one offensive snap during Sunday's divisional loss and did not record a touch. Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane appear to have established themselves as the clear top options in Miami's backfield, so Ahmed will remain off the fantasy radar heading into the Dolphins' matchup against the Giants in Week 5.

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Suits up Sunday
Ahmed (groin) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Bills.
Ahmed missed the Dolphins' 70-20 win over the Broncos in Week 3, but he'll be back in uniform Sunday. That said, Ahmed figures to work in a complementary role in his return, with Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane - who both racked up big numbers versus Denver - on track to continue to lead the team's backfield in Week 4.

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Questionable against Buffalo
Ahmed (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
After missing the 70-20 win over the Broncos in Week 3, Ahmed was a limited participant in all three of Miami's practices throughout Week 4. If he suits up Sunday, Ahmed will likely be relegated to a third-string role behind Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane, both of whom scored four touchdowns in Ahmed's absence against Denver.

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Limited to start week
Ahmed (groin) was listed as a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Ahmed's limited participation was expected after head coach Mike McDaniel said earlier Wednesday that the running back would take part in some drills. While Ahmed is progressing in his recovery from a groin injury that kept him sidelined in Week 3, the Dolphins have little reason to rush him back for Sunday's game against the Bills after Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane combined for eight touchdowns in Miami's 70-20 romp over the Broncos.

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Progressing in recovery
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Ahmed (groin) is "progressing," Adam Beasley of Pro Football Network reports.
The team intends to put Ahmed through some drills Wednesday, but the extent of his participation won't be known until Miami releases its first Week 4 injury report later in the day. While Ahmed sat out last week's matchup with the Broncos, De'Von Achane stepped into the spotlight as the No. 2 back and accounted for 233 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns, a landmark performance that likely cements him as the second-string option behind starter Raheem Mostert moving forward. If Ahmed is healthy enough to play Sunday in Buffalo, he could end up seeing most of his snaps on special teams.

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Inactive Sunday
Ahmed (groin) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
With Ahmed (who approached the game listed as doubtful) inactive, rookie De'Von Achane will have a chance to handle increased change-of-pace duties in Week 3 behind lead back Raheem Mostert, with Chris Brooks in reserve. Ahmed will thus target a potential return to action next weekend against the Bills.

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Doubtful to face Denver
Ahmed (groin) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Broncos, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Ahmed was forced to leave last Sunday night's game against the Patriots early with the injury. With Jeff Wilson (abdomen) still on injured reserve, it looks like exciting rookie De'Von Achane will have a chance to carve out a change-of-pace role behind locked-in lead back Raheem Mostert.

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Missing first two Week 3 practices
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Ahmed (groin) won't practice Wednesday or Thursday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
McDaniel didn't rule Ahmed out for Sunday's game against Denver but also didn't exactly sound optimistic about Ahmed's chances of suiting up this weekend while noting that rookie running back De'Von Achane is ready for a role in the offense. Ahmed exited early during the Week 2 win over New England in which starting back Raheem Mostert rumbled for 121 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Ahmed's groin injury could open the door for Achane to settle in as the No. 2 option on a more permanent basis, albeit with the potential complicating factor of Jeff Wilson (abdomen) coming off injured reserve at some point after Week 4. None of Ahmed, Achane or Wilson holds much fantasy value with Mostert healthy, but history suggests the 31-year-old won't last an entire season taking double-digit carries each week.

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Injury severity downplayed
Coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that Ahmed's groin injury is "not [an] overly long situation," Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
McDaniel also ruled out a groin tear. It looks as though Ahmed has a chance of being back on the field for Week 3's matchup against the Broncos, though his availability ultimately will depend on how much work he's able to get done on the practice field. Prior to leaving Sunday's win over the Patriots in the second quarter, Ahmed was putting together a relatively productive showing (six touches, 41 total yards) behind Raheem Mostert.
