    The Cowboys elevated Burton to the 53-man roster from the practice squad Sunday. Burton will take the place of Chidobe Awuzie, who was placed on IR on Saturday with a hamstring injury. Burton saw action in three games with the Cowboys in 2019, seeing just three defensive snaps, so he'll likely assume a similar role if he suits up in Week 3.

    Dallas signed Burton off the Colts' practice squad Wednesday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Burton will fill Anthony Brown's roster spot with the Cowboys. The 25-year-old cornerback has yet to play a down in 2019, so Burton need not be considered for a fantasy roster spot at this stage of his career.

    Burton was waived by the Packers on Wednesday, according to the team's official site. Burton was cut in order to make room for running back Aaron Jones, who was activated from exempt status. Burton was claimed off waivers from the Falcons on Sept. 11 and was inactive for Green Bay's Week 2 game against the Vikings.
