Player Outlook
Koo followed up a strong 2020 season where he led the league in made field goals by seeing far fewer opportunities to score for a Falcons team that finished 26th in the league in scoring. He's been plenty accurate with his kicks when given the opportunity, but with Atlanta's 2022 season expected to align more with last year's struggles than anything else, Koo could be in for a similar type of season. Koo is a fringe starter in standard-sized Fantasy leagues, though opening matchups against the Saints and Rams don't do him any favors.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Staying in Atlanta

The Falcons and Koo agreed to terms on a five-year, $24.25 million contract Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. After a rough start to his career with the Chargers in 2017 -- he made just three of six field-goal attempts and was cut after four games -- Koo was out of the NFL until the Falcons brought him on October 2019. Since then, he's been a modicum of consistency, striking true on 87 of 94 field-goal attempts and 78 of 82 point-after tries in 40 games. Instead of becoming a restricted free agent, Koo will stick in Atlanta for the foreseeable future.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Doesn't miss in season finale

Koo made both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Saints. Koo showed off his range, capping off the Falcons' first two offensive drives with field goals from 48 and 54 yards out. If there was ever a knock on the fourth-year kicker, it was his lack of consistency from 40-yards and beyond, but he put those notions to rest with two impressive kicks to end his 2021 campaign. Koo finished the season 27-for-29 (93 percent) and a perfect 30-for-30 on extra points. He signed a one-year contract with the Falcons ahead of the 2021 season, so he's set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason and is expected to be a sought-after commodity after connecting on 64 of 68 field-goal attempts over the past two seasons.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Perfect once again

Koo connected on both of his field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try during Sunday's 29-15 loss to the Bills. Koo capped off a 10-play, 65-yard drive with a 28-yard chip shot to the cut the Bills' lead to 14-5 with 10 minutes left to go in the second quarter. He also added a 24-yarder as time expired in the first half to give the Falcons a 15-14 lead going into halftime. Snowy conditions and Atlanta's sporadic offense once again diminished Koo's fantasy potential, but he hasn't missed a kick since Week 11 and remains one of the most accurate and reliable kickers in the league.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Another perfect outing

Koo connected on both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 20-16 win over the Lions. Koo capped off a seven-play, 43-yard drive with a 53-yard field goal that tied the game at 10 with just over a minute left in the first half. It was Koo's first 50-plus yard make since Week 8, and he's now 3-for-4 on the season from 50 yards and beyond. Koo also connected on a 48-yard attempt to give the Falcons a 13-10 lead after their first drive of the second half. Koo continues to be one of the most reliable and accurate kickers in the league. However, his fantasy production remains reliant on Atlanta's sporadic offense, which has a tough matchup against the Bills in Week 17.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Doesn't miss in loss

Koo made both of his field-goal attempts and connected on his only extra-point during Sunday's 31-13 loss to the 49ers. Koo opened the scoring with a 48-yard field goal on the Falcons' second offensive drive of the game. In the third quarter, Atlanta's nine-play, 71-yard drive culminated in a 22-yard attempt for Koo that cut the 49ers lead to 24-13. From inside of 50 yards this season, Koo is 46-for-47 (21-22 FGs, 25-25 PATs). The fourth-year pro remains one of the most reliable and efficient kickers in the league, but Atlanta's sporadic offense continues to diminish his fantasy potential.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Perfect once again

Koo made all three of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 29-21 win over the Panthers. After nailing his first two extra points, Koo gave the Falcons a 17-7 lead in the second quarter by connecting on a 32-yard field-goal attempt. He then capped off Atlanta's nine-play, 55-yard drive to start the second half with a 38-yard field goal. Two offensive possessions later, Koo expanded the lead to 29-14 by making a 48-yarder with six minutes to go in the fourth quarter. When Atlanta is able to move the ball, Koo can stack up points quickly, but that just hasn't consistently been the case this season. While he remains hindered by the Falcons' offensive struggles, but he continues to be one of the most consistent kickers in the league.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Doesn't miss in Week 13

Koo connected on his only field-goal attempt and both of his extra points during Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Buccaneers. Koo finished off a 15-play, 72-yard drive with a 21-yard field goal to cut Tampa Bay's lead to 13-10 in the second quarter. The 27-year-old continues to be one of the most efficient kickers in the league this season -- 16-for-18 on FGs (12-12 from inside 40 yards) and 22-for-22 on PATs. However, his fantasy potential remains hindered by the Falcons' inability to move the ball. Over his last four games, Koo has attempted just three field goals and five extra points. Anyway you cut it, that's just not enough opportunities to warrant any type of fantasy success.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: No field-goal attempts in Week 12

Koo didn't attempt a field goal, but he made all three of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 21-14 win over the Jaguars. Koo didn't have an opportunity to redeem himself from his 50-yard miss during Week 11's shutout loss to the Patriots. However, he did connect on all three of his PATs, which kept him a perfect 20-for-20 on the season. Despite Koo's consistent accuracy, his fantasy production remains limited due to sporadic opportunities from Atlanta's offense.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Misses only attempt in shutout loss

Koo missed his only field-goal attempt during Thursday's 25-0 loss to the Patriots. After the Patriots scored a touchdown to take a 10-0 lead at the start of the second quarter, the Falcons marched into field-goal range thanks to a 14-play drive. Koo connected on the 45-yard attempt, but it was nullified by a holding call. On the ensuing 50-yarder, Koo's kick narrowly missed the upright as it curved wide left. The 27-year-old has only missed two kicks this season, both of which were over 40 yards. Koo will likely remain one of the more consistent kickers in the league, but his fantasy value continues to be hampered by the Falcons' sporadic offense.

Koo opened the scoring for the Falcons by connecting on a 35-yard field-goal attempt during Atlanta's first offensive possession. • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Misses first field goal of season

Koo made two of his three field-goal attempts and his only extra point during the Falcons' 19-13 loss to the Panthers on Sunday. Koo opened the scoring by connecting on a 46-yard field goal that was set up by a Chuba Hubbard fumble on the first play of the game. However, Koo missed his next attempt -- another 46-yarder -- wide right. The miss was his first of the season, but the 27-year-old was able to bounce back to connect on a 53-yard attempt with 16 seconds left in the game. Despite the miss, Koo still is one of the most reliable kickers in the league, but his fantasy ceiling will continue to be limited by Atlanta's sporadic offense.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Another game-winning kick

Koo made all three of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 30-28 win over the Dolphins. Koo has yet to miss this season, as he is a perfect 10-for-10 on field-goal attempts and 13-for-13 on extra-point tries. The 27-year-old also now has two game-winning kicks as time expires on the season. While his production was limited by Atlanta's offense to start the season, the Falcons have now scored 30, 27 and 30 points in their last three contests, which has directly increased Koo's production. If Koo's efficiency can be complemented by a consistent offense on a week-to-week basis, he may finish as one of the top-scoring fantasy kickers during the 2021 campaign.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Another perfect outing

Koo made both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 27-20 win over the Jets. Koo opened the scoring by capping off the Falcons' first drive with a 31-yard field goal. The 27-year-old continued his dominant start to the season by connecting on a 51-yard attempt -- his first field goal over 50 yards this year -- as time expired in the first half. Koo has solidified himself as a top fantasy option, but his upside remains limited due to Atlanta's sporadic offense.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Remains perfect through Week 4

Koo made his only field-goal attempt and all three of his extra points during Sunday's 34-30 loss to Washington. Koo has yet to miss this season, as he is a perfect 5-for-5 on field goals and 7-for-7 on extra points. The 27-year-old's hot start shouldn't be surprising as he made well over 90 percent of his kicks last year. However, his fantasy production remains limited due to Atlanta's sporadic offense.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Sinks game-winning kick

Koo made his only field-goal attempt and both of his extra points during Sunday's 17-14 win over the Giants. Koo stayed perfect on the season as he sank a 40-yard game-winning kick as time expired. The 27-year-old's upside remains limited by a stagnant Falcons offense, but his efficiency certainly qualifies him as a quality fantasy option. Koo attempted 39 field goals through 15 games last year and is on pace for approximately 23 this year. If Atlanta can give him more opportunities, his value will increase exponentially.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Stays perfect on young season

Koo connected on a 36-yard field-goal attempt and made both of his PAT attempts in Sunday's 48-25 loss to Tampa Bay. Atlanta went for two after its final touchdown to make it a three-point game late in the third quarter before the Buccaneers pulled away with three unanswered touchdowns in the fourth. Koo's off to a 3-for-3 start on field goals through two weeks and should continue to make the most of the opportunities that should stem from his role on a Falcons team that figures to be involved in plenty of high-scoring games.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Staying with Atlanta

Koo has re-signed with the Falcons, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. Although he's been in the NFL since 2017, the 26-year-old kicker only has two accrued seasons, which means he won't become a restricted free agent until spring 2022. Koo finished 2020 as the league leader in field goals made (37), notably going 8-of-8 from 50-plus yards out. He should be drafted in any league that uses kickers.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Likely staying with Falcons

Koo will be an exclusive-rights free agent this offseason, which "practically guarantees" he'll be back with the Falcons for 2021, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Players who reach the end of their contracts with less than three accrued seasons in the NFL become ERFAs. These players don't actually have any negotiating power, as they can only play for their original team, so long as the team tenders them a minimum salary. Koo's impressive performance the past two years ensures he'll get that tender, unless he receives a long-term extension first. Either way, he figures to be Atlanta's kicker in 2021, hoping to build on a 2020 campaign in which he converted 37 of 39 field-goal attempts and 33 of 36 point-after attempts.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Misses vital late-game kick

Koo made both of his extra-point tries but missed on a potential game-tying 39-yard field-goal attempt with 14 seconds remaining in Sunday's 17-14 loss to the Chiefs. Koo pushed the crunch-time kick wide right, continuing a season of frequent late-game heartbreak for the Falcons faithful. The 26-year-old had missed only one of 36 field-goal attempts this season coming into Week 16, composing a perfect 8-for-8 mark on kicks of 50 yards or more. Koo's 30-for-33 rate on extra-point attempts demonstrates a potential blind spot in his game at the short-to-intermediate level, and unfortunately for Atlanta, that reality reared its ugly head Sunday afternoon.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Flawless against ex-team

Koo made his lone field-goal attempt of 45 yards, also converting both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Chargers. Taking on the team that cut him following a four-game stint in 2017, Koo demonstrated the consistency that has since transformed him into a Pro Bowl-caliber kicker. The 26-year-old reached an incredible 33-for-34 mark on field goals with his Week 14 performance, also pushing his PAT conversion rate above 90 percent for the first time all season. Chargers kicker Michael Badgley, meanwhile, entered the contest tied for 25th in the league with a 73.1 percent conversion rate on field-goal attempts.
