Atlanta placed Andersen (shoulder) on its injured reserve list Tuesday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports. As was feared after Coach Arthur Smith made a discouraging statement regarding Andersen's shoulder early in the week, he'll now have to spend at least Atlanta's next four games in recovery. Nate Landman figures to step in as a starter until Andersen is ready to return.... See More ... See Less

Falcons' Troy Andersen: Injury may be serious
Coach Arthur Smith said Monday that the arm/shoulder injury Andersen sustained during Sunday's 20-6 loss at Detroit "didn't look good," Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. The specifics of the issue Andersen is dealing with are still unknown, but his coach's comments don't bode well for his recovery timeline. It will be worth watching whether Andersen ends up moving to injured reserve in the coming days.... See More ... See Less -

Falcons' Troy Andersen: Won't play Week 2
Andersen (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 2 game against the Packers, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports. A 2022 second-round pick, Andersen is in his first season as a full-time starter for the Falcons. He played 99 percent of the defensive snaps in the season opener versus Carolina, recording 10 tackles, including 0.5 sacks, but reported concussion symptoms and will miss Week 2. Nate Landman is expected to start in his place.... See More ... See Less -
Falcons' Troy Andersen: Impresses as full-time starter
Andersen recorded 10 tackles (three solo), including one for loss, and a half-sack during Sunday's 24-10 win over the Panthers. Andersen took over as a full-time starter late last year, and the second-year pro is expected to take a major leap in Year 2. He tied Jessie Bates with a team-high 10 stops and made a few plays in the backfield, as well. Andersen is a strong IDP option moving forward, but the youngster may have some hiccups along the way.... See More ... See Less -
Falcons' Troy Andersen: Seven stops in loss
Andersen recorded seven tackles (five solo) during Sunday's 21-18 loss to New Orleans. Andersen drew the start over Mykal Walker and notched his most tackles in a game since Week 6, when Walker was sidelined with an injury. If Andersen continues to draw starts, he could emerge as a solid IDP option during the final three games of the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Falcons' Troy Andersen: Back in action
