  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Ruled out for Sunday's game

Douglas (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Vikings, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Douglas will remain sidelined for a second straight contest, allowing fellow rookie Chris Bell to handle an increased role on offense alongside Malik Washington. Bell turned eight targets into four catches for 67 yards last Sunday against the Chiefs while playing 71.2 percent of the Dolphins' offensive snaps.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Not practicing Thursday

Douglas (ankle) remained a non-participant during the media-viewing portion of Thursday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Douglas didn't practice last week prior to sitting out this past Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. Head coach Jeff Hafley provided some optimism earlier in the week by labeling Douglas day-to-day, but the rookie wide receiver has yet to resume practicing ahead of Sunday's game against Minnesota. Douglas will likely have to practice in at least some capacity Friday to avoid being ruled out on Friday's injury report.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Misses practice Wednesday

Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said that Douglas (ankle) won't practice Wednesday, Travis Wingfield of the team's official site reports. Hafley labeled Douglas as day-to-day when he spoke to the media Monday, but the rookie wideout apparently hasn't made enough progress in his recovery from the ankle injury two days later to practice in any fashion. Considering he missed the Dolphins' Week 3 loss to the Chiefs, Douglas will probably need to put in a full practice by Friday in order to approach Sunday's game in Minnesota without a designation.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Day-to-day, could practice Wednesday

Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said Douglas (ankle) is day-to-day and could practice Wednesday, Travis Wingfield of the team's official site reports. Douglas was inactive for Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Chiefs due to the ankle injury, but the Dolphins are seemingly optimistic that his absence won't extend beyond that. The rookie wideout has carved out a notable role right off the bat for Miami, logging snap shares north of 85 percent in both of the team's first two games while producing a 7-113-0 receiving line on 10 targets.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Ruled out this week

Douglas (ankle) won't play Sunday against the Chiefs, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports. After catching five passes for 94 yards in his regular-season debut, Douglas had just 19 yards last week before exiting in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury. He hasn't practiced this week, suggesting he could miss time beyond Sunday. For the upcoming game against Kansas City, fellow rookies Chris Bell and Kevin Coleman are the top candidates to take on extra snaps in Douglas' absence, though Ryan Miller (hip) or Jalen Tolbert could also get involved.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Not ready to practice

Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said that Douglas (ankle) won't practice Wednesday, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports. Douglas sustained an ankle injury late in Sunday's 35-13 loss to San Francisco, and the injury puts his availability for the Dolphins' Week 3 game against the Chiefs in question. Per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com, Hafley was non-committal on the rookie wideout's availability for the weekend, so Douglas may need to return to full practice participation by Friday to have a realistic chance of playing against Kansas City. Through his first two NFL games, Douglas has produced a 7-113-0 receiving line on 10 targets.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Status iffy for Week 3

Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said Monday that it's "too early to tell" the severity of the ankle injury Douglas sustained in Sunday's 35-13 loss to the 49ers, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports. After turning heads with a 5-94-0 line on seven targets in the Dolphins' season-opening loss to the Raiders, Douglas was limited to two catches for 19 yards on three targets while playing 85 percent of the Dolphins' offensive snaps in Week 2 before the ankle injury forced him out late in the fourth quarter. The rookie third-round pick is expected to be evaluated further over the next few days before the Dolphins gain more clarity on his status heading into Sunday's matchup with the Chiefs.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Sleeper WRs

Douglas was awesome in his NFL debut in Week 1 at Las Vegas with five catches for 84 yards on seven targets, and he should continue to be a go-to option for Malik Willis. We'll see if Malik Washington (three catches for 53 yards on eight targets in Week 1) or Chris Bell (one catch for 25 yards on two targets) step up in Week 2 against the 49ers, but I'm willing to trust Douglas as a starter in deeper, three-receiver leagues. The Dolphins should be chasing points at San Francisco, and Douglas -- for now -- has the most upside of Miami's receiving corps.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Impressive in NFL debut

Douglas brought in five of seven targets for 94 yards in the Dolphins' 27-13 loss to the Raiders on Sunday. Douglas led the Dolphins in receptions and receiving yards while finishing second in targets in his NFL regular-season debut. The rookie third-round pick tied fellow wideout Malik Washington for a team-long 30-yard catch as well, and Douglas' immediate chemistry with quarterback Malik Willis combined with Miami's overall lack of playmakers outside of De'Von Achane bodes well for the first-year receiver's prospects moving forward.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Listed as starter

Douglas is listed as a starting wide receiver on Miami's initial depth chart headed into a Week 1 matchup against the Raiders. Douglas is slotted in as the X receiver, alongside Jalen Tolbert at the Z and Malik Washington as the slot man for Miami. A third-round pick out of Texas Tech back in April, Douglas has been running with the first-team offense most of the summer. He logged 17 offensive snaps during the preseason, catching one of his two targets for 28 yards, before being rested for the third exhibition. This Dolphins offense projects to be a low-scoring one, and it remains to be seen if Malik Willis will be able to carry any of his pass catchers to fantasy relevance.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Gets chunk gain on one catch

Douglas secured one of two targets for 28 yards in the Dolphins' 20-7 preseason loss to the Commanders on Friday. The rookie third-round pick opened the game with the starting offense and was targeted incomplete deep on Malik Willis' third pass attempt of the night. However, Willis went right back to Douglas on his next dropback, and the duo connected for a 28-yard gain on third down to put the ball in Commanders territory. Douglas brings impressive size and speed and has been running with the first-team offense in recent training camp practices, and Friday's cameo certainly continued to buttress his case for a sizable role right out of the gate in his NFL career.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Listed with first-team offense

Douglas is listed as a starting wide receiver on the Dolphins' first unofficial depth chart of training camp, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Douglas joined fellow WRs Malik Washington and Jalen Tolbert on the listed first-team offense, while Tutu Atwell, Kevin Coleman and Jalen Reagor composed the second team. Douglas was selected in the third round of this year's draft, 75th overall, ahead of position mates Chris Bell (third round, 94th overall) and Coleman (fifth round, 177th overall). Both Bell (knee, active/non-football injury list) and Coleman (undisclosed) have missed time in training camp, perhaps aiding Douglas' rise, but it's somewhat surprising to see him ahead of the veteran Atwell. Douglas will aim to put good tape together during the preseason slate to solidify his case.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Experiencing early highs and lows

Douglas has had some impressive moments during training camp but has been inconsistent so far, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports. Douglas has a prime opportunity to secure a prominent role among a Miami receiving corps that parted ways with both Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill (knee - ACL) during the offseason. Head coach Jeff Hafley said Monday that he's been "impressed" by Douglas but also indicated that the rookie wideout has "a ways to go for what we expect of him." After being drafted in the third round of April's NFL Draft, Douglas has naturally received high expectations, and he landed in a great spot in terms of opportunity, as the Dolphins don't have a clear top WR in a group that also includes Malik Washington, Jalen Tolbert and Tutu Atwell near the top of the potential pecking order.

  • Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Picked by Dolphins

The Dolphins selected Douglas in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 75th overall. Douglas (6-foot-4, 206 pounds) was a decent enough player at Texas Tech, where he went over 800 yards each of the last two years, but he wasn't productive in his two years at Florida before that, and he never really broke out the way an athlete like him should. Douglas' 4.39 speed on his big frame should have made him a dominant collegiate receiver, but instead he was just a solid one. This pick would have been an easier sell in the fifth round instead of the third.
