Green has spent time on the active roster as an elevated player this season, but he never appeared in a game. This also isn't the first time he's been cut loose by the Falcons, so he may find his way back. In a corresponding move, the Falcons signed Elliott Fry.

  • Juwan Green: Slotted in for practice squad role

Green has signed to the Falcons' practice squad, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

The undrafted free agent from Albany was unable to catch on with Atlanta's 53-man roster, as the Falcons elected to sign zero undrafted rookies amidst an abbreviated offseason. Green is, however, one of just two receivers so far signed to the Falcons' practice squad, joining fellow rookie Chris Rowland on the 16-man reserve roster. He'll remain situated in a developmental role during 2020 unless there are significant injury troubles at wide receiver. Green may also find the field in the more immediate term if he can prove himself as a difference maker on special teams during practice.

  • Falcons' Juwan Green: Joins Falcons' 2020 UDFA class

Green has agreed to terms on a contract with the Falcons, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.

The young wideout from Martinsburg, WV set all kinds of records for the Albany Great Danes after playing out his first two collegiate seasons at Lackawanna College in Pennsylvania. He made a modest impact during his debut season with Albany in 2018, but he absolutely broke out the following season, racking up 83 receptions for 1,386 yards and leading the FCS with 17 touchdowns during 2019. Even with such gaudy college production, given how strong Atlanta's receiving corps is between Nos. 1 and 3, Green will likely have to show competency on special teams to make the 53-man roster.
