  • Broncos' Forrest Merrill: Reverts to injured reserve

Merrill (undisclosed), who had previously been waived by the Broncos with an injury designation, reverted to IR on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. As a result, the defensive tackle is slated to miss the 2023 campaign unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team. Merrill, who also spent time with the Seahawks during training camp, has four career tackles to his credit (in four games with the Chargers in 2021).

  • Broncos' Forrest Merrill: Joins Denver

Merril has signed a contract with the Broncos. Days after getting waived by Seattle, Merrill has found a new home in a different western division. The 26-year-old is looking to bounce back from a 2022 season that saw him sidelined for its entirety due to an undisclosed injury. He will now compete for a depth interior lineman role in Denver.

  • Forrest Merrill: Let go by Seattle

The Seahawks cut Merrill on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Merrill will head to waivers despite having just signed with Seattle back in May. The 26-year-old spent the past two years with the Chargers and missed the entirety of last season with an undisclosed injury. Merrill will now look to catch on with another team and compete for a roster spot.

  • Forrest Merrill: Not tendered by Bolts

The Chargers didn't extend Merrill (undisclosed) a qualifying offer or contract tender as a restricted free agent Wednesday, so he's officially an unrestricted free agent, per the NFL's transaction log. Merrill joined the Chargers as a 2021 unrestricted free agent out of Arkansas State, recording four tackles across four appearances in his rookie season. The 6-foot defensive tackle was then waived by the team with an undisclosed injury during the preseason, and he wound up sidelined for the entirety of the 2022 campaign after reverting to IR in mid-August. Merrill will now look to land a new contract heading into the 2023 campaign.
