Detroit signed Gilbert (undisclosed) to the practice squad Thursday.
Gilbert attempted to make the Lions' 53-man roster during training camp, but he was let go with an injury settlement in mid-August due to an undisclosed issue. It appears he's fully recovered from his injury and will be on the Lions' scout team as a reserve linebacker.

DaRon Gilbert: Settlement reached
The Lions waived Gilbert (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Gilbert reverted to the Lions' IR one week ago after going unclaimed on waivers, but it now appears the team has reached a settlement with the 23-year-old. Once Gilbert returns to full health, he is free to sign elsewhere.

Lions' DaRon Gilbert: Reverts to IR
Gilbert (undisclosed) reverted to Detroit's injured reserve Wednesday after clearing waivers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Gilbert was competing for a depth role at linebacker for the Lions. However, now that he's on IR, he'll be forced to sit out for all of 2024 unless he reaches an injury settlement with Detroit.

The Lions waived/injured Gilbert (undisclosed) on Tuesday.
The move makes room on the Lions' training camp roster for corner Essang Bassey. If Gilbert clears waivers, he'll revert to Detroit's injured reserve, which means he will have to sit out for the entire 2024 season unless an injury settlement is reached.
