This will be Moore's second time on the active roster this season after being activated, sent to waivers and finding his way back to the practice squad. Moore has 32 snaps on defense and 19 snaps on special teams over four games this season while recording two solo tackles.
Moore was waived by the Colts on Saturday, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.
Moore was waived in order for the Colts to add more depth to their defensive line. If he does not get claimed off waivers there is a good chance he will revert to the team's practice squad.
Moore was promoted to the active roster alongside cornerback Lenzy Pipkins. With Darius Leonard (ankle) considered questionable for Thursday's game against the Patriots, Moore serves as a depth option to shore up the team's linebacker corps.
Moore had two solo tackles in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. He played 27 snaps of the defense's 56 plays.
Moore split time at middle linebacker with Anthony Walker. However, Walker was likely being eased into action after missing a month in the preseason with a groin injury. The undrafted free agent from South Carolina will likely see fewer snaps on defense in Week 2.
Moore is competing for a starting linebacker role after the trade of Antonio Morrison, 1070 am ESPN Indianapolis reports.
Moore will likely be a top option off the bench, but he could get significant playing time with Anthony Walker (groin) isn't ready to play Week 1.
