The New Jersey Devils have come to terms with 37-year-old forward Patrik Elias on a new three-year contract, the team announced on Thursday.

The deal will reportedly pay Elias $5.5 million per year for a total of $16.5 million according to Tom Gulitti of NorthJersey.com

Elias is still productive and is coming off a 2013 season that saw him score 14 goals to go with 22 assists. Still, that's a pretty significant deal for a player of his age, and it's worth asking how productive he'll still be by the end of that contract.

Elias has been with the Devils for his entire career, becoming a regular in 1997-98. He is one of the most productive players in team history and is their all-time leader in almost every offensive category. He was a key part of two of their three Stanley Cup winning teams and has scored 375 goals in 1,090 games.
