Matia Marcantuoni: Unconditionally waived
Marcantuoni was placed on unconditional waivers by Arizona on Wednesday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
Marcantuoni was the last remaining player from a four-man trade of depth players last season who was still under contract with an NHL organization. In seven games with AHL Tucson this year, the fourth-round draft pick failed to secure a point and added just six PIM. If unclaimed, the center will be eligible to sign with any team in the league, although a contract may be hard to find, given his inability to produce at a high level.
