Yohann Auvitu: Signs two-year deal in KHL
Auvitu signed a two-year contract with HC Sochi of the KHL on Monday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.
Auvitu accumulated 13 points (five goals, eight assists) over 58 games split between the Devils and Oilers from 2016-18. He was expected to emerge as a consistent power-play quarterback, but evidently, the French defenseman feels that he's better off in the top Russian league.

Auvitu finished his lackluster season injured (undisclosed) and without a guaranteed role for 2018-19.
Auvitu was unable to play the final two games of the 2017-18 season with an undisclosed injury -- he finished the campaign with nine points (three goals, six assists) in 33 games. The French blueliner played a minimal role (13:33 average time on ice) and was deemed a healthy scratch more often than not in the closing months. As an unrestricted free agent in 2018, Auvitu's future remains uncertain -- regardless of his next endeavor, he will have to prove himself to earn a major role with any club. The 28-year-old defenseman is best left alone on draft day for now.

Auvitu (undisclosed) won't play in Saturday's game against the Canucks, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 reports.
Since this is the final game of the season for the Oilers, that simply means Auvitu is done for the year. The defenseman also missed Thursday's contest, so Edmonton will likely just roll with the same lineup it used against the Golden Knights. The fantasy impact of Auvitu's absence will be minimal, given he only managed nine points this season.

Auvitu signed a one-year deal with the Oilers on Monday. The deal is worth the NHL minimum $650,000.
The soon-to-be 28-year-old has spent the majority of his professional career in Finland, where he tallied 57 points and a plus-33 rating in 216 Liiga games. Auvitu got into 25 games with New Jersey last year but wasn't very productive offensively, turning in just two goals and two assists. That said, he could be in the mix for a job on the Oilers' back end come October with a strong training camp, so those interested should keep an eye on him in September's preseason.

The Frenchman has been out of New Jersey's lineup since Jan. 9, missing seven games during that span. The poor guy was called up to big club Saturday, only to sustain the ailment on his first shift against the Oilers that evening. Auvitu's IR placement was made retroactive to that game, but he'll still be ineligible for the next two contests. This all but assures that Seth Helgeson will hold down the fort on the third pair.

Auvitu's (lower body) injury has still not improved and he will be sidelined again for Monday's matchup with the Panthers, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.
While he's out, Auvitu will be replaced in the lineup by Seth Helgeson. Even when healthy, Auvitu has been used sparingly, as he has appeared in just two of New Jersey's last six outings. Considering the defenseman is on a nine-game pointless streak, fantasy owners may want to consider leaving him out of their lineup even when he is cleared to return.

Auvitu was called up to New Jersey on Saturday, Devils play-by-play announcer Matt Loughlin reports.
The Devils will go with a retooled blue line after watching starting goalie Cory Schneider get lit up for three goals on five shots against the Maple Leafs on Friday. Look for Auvitu, who has collected four points and 54 shots in 24 games as a rookie, to bump Seth Helgeson from the lineup while slotting on the third pair alongside Steve Santini.

The rookie defenseman reportedly will be available for the evening's contest against the Penguins.
