  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Called up from minors

Mamin was promoted from AHL Charlotte on Wednesday.

Mamin could be immediately pressed into action against the Capitals on Thursday given the raft of forward injuries for Florida, including Sam Bennett (upper body) and Joe Thornton (undisclosed). If the winger does play versus Washington, it will likely come in a bottom-six role.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Heads to Charlotte

The Panthers loaned Mamin (muscle strain) to AHL Charlotte on Friday.

Mamin had been on the Panthers' injured reserve due to a muscle strain, but apparently he's recovered from the injury. He joins the AHL club, where he'll begin his season once ready to play.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Designated as injured non-roster

Mamin was added to the Panthers' injured non-roster list Tuesday, David Dwork of Local 10 Miami reports.

Mamin is still dealing with a pulled muscle he suffered during training camp. Once healthy, the 26-year-old winger, who hasn't appeared in an NHL contest since 2018-19, will almost certainly be assigned to Florida's AHL affiliate.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Still dealing with muscle injury

Mamin -- who has been in and out of practice due to a pulled muscle -- was not on the ice for Monday's session, David Dwork of Local 10 Miami reports.

At this point, it's probably fair to wonder if Mamin will be ready in time for Opening Night against the Penguins on Thursday. Considering the 26-year-old winger managed just seven appearances for the Panthers last season, he likely will find himself headed to the minors once cleared to play.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: On the ice Monday

Mamin (strain) participated in Monday's practice, Steve Goldstein of Fox Sports Florida reports.

Mamin missed about a week of training camp due to his muscle injury. The 26-year-old winger could be in the mix to play in Tuesday's preseason clash with Tampa Bay. A strong showing in the final days of camp could help the Russian break into the Opening Night roster as he tries to get into his first NHL game since 2018-19.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Dealing with pulled muscle

Mamin was held out of Tuesday's practice with a pulled muscle, David Dwork of Local 10 Miami reports.

Coach Joel Quenneville didn't provide any specifics on how long Mamin might be sidelined due to his muscular injury, though it certainly didn't sound as if he would be ready for Wednesday's preseason clash with Dallas. Even if fully fit, the 26-year-old Russian was far from a lock to crack the Opening Night roster and may have to spend some more time developing in the minors.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Lands one-year deal with Florida

Mamin has signed a one-year contract with the Panthers, David Dwork of Local 10 Miami reports.

Mamin has spent the past two seasons with CSKA Moskva of the KHL, racking up 25 goals and 63 points through 106 appearances. The 6-foot-2 winger will likely compete for bottom-six minutes with Florida in 2021-22.

  • Maxim Mamin: Re-ups with KHL team

Mamin agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with CSKA Moscow on Tuesday, Igor Eronko of Sport-Express reports.

While the Panthers will almost certainly give Mamin, a pending restricted free agent, a qualifying offer, the move figures to be a technicality that would allow the organization to retain his rights, should he ever want to return. The 24-year-old logged just seven games with Florida this season before being loaned back to CSKA. At this point, Mamin seems like a long shot to ever playing in the NHL again.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Will sign with KHL club

Mamin has been loaned to CSKA Moscow of the KHL, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.

Mamin ensured that there would be a European Assignment Clause in his contract when he agreed to a two-year deal with the Panthers in May of 2017. It appears that the Russian was hedging for the possibility that he wouldn't be entirely comfortable in the NHL -- that does seem to the be case since he's only produced four points through 33 games at the top level, including seven contests in which he was held pointless this season.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Draws back in lineup

Mamin saw his first start in 15 days during a 4-2 loss to the Rangers on Saturday.

After being a healthy scratch for five games, Mamin's return featured just 4:01 of ice time. After being on the ice for the first two goals against in the first period, Mamin saw only a few more shifts for the rest of the game. With Michael Haley coming back to the team after an AHL conditioning shift, Mamin may find himself being sent down to the minors soon.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Heads to minors

Mamim was assigned to AHL Springfield on Sunday.

Mamim was a healthy scratch for five straight games before drawing into Saturday's game versus the Rangers, and he dropped a minus-2 mark in just 4:01 of ice time. With no points in seven games, Mamin's absence doesn't affect fantasy teams.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Drops gloves in loss

Mamin faced off against Brendan Smith late in the second period as the Rangers won 5-2 on Tuesday.

In only his third game of the season, Mamin took exception to a shove by Smith and gave the Panthers their first fighting major of the season. Despite spending only 8:16 on the ice Mamin had four shots on goal and three hits while the Panthers dropped their third game in regulation.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Slated for action Saturday

Mamin was rendered a healthy scratch for the first two games of the new season. However, he's projected to play on the third line Saturday against the visiting Canucks.

Mamin could tag in for Frank Vatrano, who reportedly served as an extra in Friday's practice session after turning in a pair of scoreless performances at the outset of the new campaign. Still, you would have to be in an incredibly deep league to consider adding Mamin, who scored three goals and four points over 26 games as a rookie in 2017-18.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Marginal role in 2017-18

Mamin skated for 26 games over the 2017-18 season, scoring three times and collecting an assist while going plus-two.

After being called up in early January, Mamin drew into 26 of 37 contests, but just averaged 10:31 of ice time while mainly skating on the fourth line. The 23-year-old really forced the promotion by scoring 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 32 games in the minors, and it just took him eight games to score his first career NHL goal. Mamin also plays with a chip on his shoulder and had 51 hits on the season -- including a whopping seven during a March 31 game against Boston -- and his physical play and puck possession skills should keep him in a bottom six role next season, and he'll return to Florida for the last year on his contract.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Notches first NHL point Thursday

Mamin potted a goal and recorded 10:33 of ice time during Thursday's 3-2 comeback win over the Capitals.

Mamin's first career goal opened the scoring for the Cats who needed a last-minute power-play goal to take the lead in front of an emotional home-ice crowd still reeling from the shooting at the nearby Stoneman Douglas High School last week. The 23-year-old winger can only hope the marker buys him some more time at the NHL level. However, his fantasy relevance is exceedingly limited even in deeper leagues unless he can log regular minutes.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Called up from minors

Mamin was recalled from AHL Springfield on Monday, Matthew DeFranks of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

With the All-Star break behind them, the Panthers brought back some additional depth ahead of Tuesday's trip to face the Islanders. Mamin -- who has 25 points in 32 minor-league outings -- has cracked Florida's lineup just once this season. Until he can secure a consistent role, the 23-year-old is unlikely to provide much in terms of fantasy production.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: On loan to AHL's T-Birds

Mamin was reassigned to AHL Springfield on Friday.

A physical winger with two-way acumen, Mamin made his NHL debut Sunday against the Blue Jackets, having registered a minor penalty and a blocked shot over 9:19 of ice time. Look for the 2016 sixth-round draft pick to get called up again when the Panthers need a stronger look up front.

  • Panthers' Maxim Mamin: Called up to big club

Mamin was called up to Florida on Monday, Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun reports.

Mamin hasn't taken the ice for the Panthers this year, but the 22-year-old left wing could see his opportunity sometime in the future. For now, he'll be buried on the depth chart, but don't be surprised if he gets a chance to play at some point.
