Rangers' Artyom Gonchar: Good to go
Gonchar (undisclosed) is available for the start of training camp, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic on Wednesday.
Gonchar wasn't ready for on-ice activities during rookie camp, but it seems he's recovered. He had 15 goals and 51 points in 65 regular-season outings with OHL Sudbury in 2025-26. He's likely to begin the upcoming campaign back in the OHL.

Rangers' Artyom Gonchar: Not cleared for on-ice activities
Gonchar is dealing with an undisclosed injury and hasn't been cleared to be on the ice to begin rookie camp, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports Friday.
While the exact nature and severity of Gonchar's injury isn't yet clear, he's sidelined for the start of rookie camp despite being present with the team. The 19-year-old made 65 regular-season appearances with OHL Sudbury last year, and he recorded 15 goals, 36 assists and 31 PIM.

Gonchar is up to 10 goals and 32 points, as well as a minus-14 rating, over 40 appearances this season. The defenseman's scoring potential for the rest of the season is up in the air, as Sudbury was a team that sold off players through trades in January, which may weaken the team's offense overall.
